Entrepreneurship

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, is all set to offer MBA in Entrepreneurship from this academic session.

Entrepreneurship is a highly sought after specialization in MBA in the present times. Most of the top business schools offer full time and executive programmes in Entrepreneurship. Top IIMs like IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Indore, have even set up incubators to train and assist entrepreneurs in setting up businesses.

At Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, the programme will be offered by the university’s International Institute of Professional Studies (IIPS).

According to IIPS director BK Tripath, the course plan has been sent to Board of Studies of Management for approval.

“After the board and executive council’s formal nod, the course will be started at the IIPS,” he said.

IIPS plans to launch the course with 60 students. If the course receives good response the intake capacity will be increased.

Since the launch of Start-Up India campaign, there has been sizable increase in the number of management institutes offering entrepreneurship programmes at all levels and promoting entrepreneurial roles.

IIPS also plans to set up and entrepreneurship cell. “The entrepreneurship cell will guide students in starting their own businesses,” he said.

“Entrepreneurship is a new buzzword in the country and more and more students are opting for starting their own business. It’s therefore our responsibility to help students in converting their ideas into viable business,” he added.
