Entrance Exams in IIM Bodh Gaya

IIM BG is a government-run college, so there is currently no entrance exam that the institute organises or administers on its own.

The Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya (IIM BG) is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious business schools in the state of Bihar. At the moment, there are three different courses that the institute is offering: IPM, MBA, and PhD. Each course has its own admission process that prospective students need to follow.

Entrance Exams Accepted in IIM BG 

There is a separate admissions test required for each course. A candidate is required to take the JIPMAT exam, which is administered by NTA, in order to be considered for admission to IPM. A candidate must take the CAT exam to be considered for admission as a domestic student in the MBA program. International students are required to take the GMAT to be considered for admission. When it comes to getting a PhD, there are many different entrance exams whose scores are accepted in IIM Bodh Gaya. Some of these exams include the CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE and JRF (UGC/CSIR). Given that IIM BG is a college run by the central government, there is currently no entrance exam that the institute organises and administers on its own.

Group Discussion(GD) and Personal Interview(PI) for MBA

In the wake of the third wave of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the month of January 2022, the GD part of the selection process was eliminated, and the weightage associated with it got redistributed to other sections. Only 20 per cent of the admissions at IIM BG are based on personal interviews, with the rest being determined by other factors. This time management has only taken 5 per cent weightage away from VARC sectional marks, bringing the total weightage for the CAT exam up to 50 per cent. In addition to this, thirty per cent weightage is given to the student’s profile, which includes factors such as academic background, diversity factor and work experience. 

IPM Admission Details

For admission into IPM, candidates must have an NTA score that is enough to meet or exceed the minimum qualifying score established for their respective categories. However, there is a specific criterion used during the admission process. In the event that two or more students end up with the same overall composite score, the ranking of those students will be determined by the following criteria:

• JIPMAT overall score (higher score will be ranked higher),
• Scores in the VARC section (higher scores will be ranked higher),
• QA sectional score (higher scores will be ranked higher), 
• DILR sectional score(higher scores will be ranked higher), 
• Class X score (higher scores will be ranked higher), 
• Class XII score (higher scores will be ranked higher)
• Class XII appearance (recent appearance will be ranked higher), 
• Class X appearance (recent appearance will be ranked higher), 
• Date of Birth (younger candidate will be ranked higher)

In the PhD course, the research aptitude is a must and largely the selection depends on that only but there is a particular policy that can be found on the internet. In addition to that, certain exam scores are accepted for admission but the generalisation of the scores is totally under the knowledge of the authorities and no framework is available on the internet.
