SNAP Analysis 2019: Section-Wise Review and Cut Offs

General English

The General English section of SNAP 2019 had 34 questions, out of which 26 were verbal ability questions and eight were reading comprehension questions. Most of the questions were vocabulary based and did not pose any challenge. Questions based on grammar were easy. All the questions in VA could be attempted with high accuracy.  The RC passages too were easy to comprehend. The long passage was from an article from the Economist called “Panda on Hong Kong’s line about the Chinese takeover of Hong Kong”. The shorter passage was from the Dalai Lama’s book The Art of Happiness.

29-30 questions with 85 percent accuracy could be considered a good score in General English section of SNAP 2019.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

Most of the questions in Analytical & Logical Reasoning section of SNAP 2019 were standalone questions. In 35 questions, 26 were standalone and 9 were set-based. In set-based questions, a set of 6 questions was based on Linear Arrangement having a single row and a set of 3 questions based on scheduling. In verbal reasoning, there were three questions; two on analogies and one on statement-conclusion. Like last year, five questions were based on concepts of mathematics and two on science.

An attempt of 27-28 questions with 85 percent accuracy could be considered good attempt in Analytical and Logical Reasoning section.

Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency

Like 2018, this section of SNAP 2019 had no data sufficiency questions. Out of 40 questions, 12 were on Data Interpretation and 28 on Quantitative Aptitude (including 5 Special Question). Two sets were based on Venn diagram containing 4 and 2 questions. A set based on Table and a set based on two pie charts, had 3 questions each.
An attempt of 20-22 questions with 85 percent accuracy will be considered good attempt in this section.
