Students’ Speak: How placement takes place at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies?

2 mins readUpdated on Nov 28, 2019 12:43 IST

According to the college placement cell, all the students who are pursuing the course and currently in the second year can apply for the placement but only if you satisfy the criteria mentioned by the respective companies.

In our college, Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies, Kochi, we have three management courses namely post-graduation diploma management (PGDM), Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM). While MBA and MHRM belong to Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, PGDM belongs to Rajagiri Business School. These two institutions are clubbed into umbrella branding as Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies. All these three courses have the same placement cell.

All these courses' tenure is for two years and the fees of the courses vary. During the second year of the course the placement drives gets started by the month of August or September. And the criteria to apply depends on the companies that visit. The different organisation has its own criteria and procedure of shortlisting of candidates.

According to the college placement cell, all the students who are pursuing the course and currently in the second year can apply for the placement but only if you satisfy the criteria mentioned by the respective companies. Thus if a student has a backlog then they may not be able to apply for all the companies as few companies refrain back paper students to apply.

Few reputed companies that don’t encourage the back paper students to apply and refrain in applying include Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, TCS, City Union Bank, etc. But there are also many other companies that allow even back paper students to apply. These include ICICI Prudential, CCD, Asian Paints, Berger, TATA telecom, HDFC AMC, HDFC Ltd, etc.

So, if a student has a back paper, they are still eligible to apply on certain grounds. Many organisations also seek other details like:

  • Minimum marks of 50 percent and above in Graduation
  • Has to know one or more regional languages other than Hindi & English
  • Ready to relocate anywhere in India, etc.

The process for placement in Rajagiri begins with eligible students applying on the Reculta website (digital placement solution). The shortlisted candidates are then intimated to take the Aptitude Test if any and are called for Pre-Placement Talk followed by Group Discussion, Personal Interview (GDPI). And once the GDPI is done the results are being declared on the same day or the next day itself. Attendance is strict for the students to apply for the exam. A minimum of 75 percent is important.
