The chilling winter of Bihar has arrived, leaving many less privileged people vulnerable to the wrath of cold. To help them combat the freezing temperature, a cloth donation drive was organized by Pragati, the CSR Committee of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya.

The committee initiated the drive by collecting clothes from the students, faculty and staff of IIM Bodh Gaya. The zest among the students to support the needy was truly heartwarming.

After receiving an overwhelming number of donations of more than 280 clothes, the garments were sorted and segregated for further distribution.

The members of the CSR committee then visited the construction site and neighbouring areas around the campus and distributed the clothes to the families residing there. The workers’ gratitude towards the committee was evident on their faces as well their gestures. It was an unforgettable event for the committee members, who were humbled by this experience.

The administrative and CPWD staff played a major role in making this drive a success by cooperating with the committee and providing conveyance, staff, and other requirements.

The donation drive aligned with the Institute’s vision to create socially responsible and mindful leaders who would contribute towards pacifying and alleviating the grief of the needy.

Professor  Sreelekha, Chairperson of the Student Affairs Committee at IIM Bodh Gaya, coordinated the efforts with Pragati, the CSR Committee and provided support whenever required. Professor Amit Srivastava, the Chairperson of Pragati, further added that the committee is planning to make this event an annual affair and looks forward to conducting more similar events.
