Indian Institute of Management Bodhgaya (IIM Bodh Gaya) has collaborated with Ericsson to introduce a new industry-driven training program on Digital Business Management. This collaboration, aimed at strengthening students’ industry readiness, will be incorporated into the MBA curriculum at IIM Bodhgaya. The training will provide students with real-world insights and practical knowledge in mobile financial services and digital finance technologies, crucial to India’s rapidly growing digital economy.
Partnership Focused on Digital Finance
The collaboration between Ericsson and IIM Bodhgaya will focus on digital business management in the fintech space, offering students specialized training in mobile financial services (MFS) and digital finance technologies. The structured training program will include both in-person and virtual sessions conducted by Ericsson’s MFS experts.
The program will cover key topics such as:
- Digital Payments
- Financial Inclusion
- Compliance Frameworks
- Fintech Business Models
- AI-driven Financial Services
This initiative will ensure that students gain industry-aligned skills, enhancing their understanding of the digital finance landscape and its implications for India’s digital economy.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by prominent leaders from both organizations. From Ericsson India, the agreement was signed by Rajesh Gupta, Whole-Time Director, and Abhishek Kumar, Head of People Function. On behalf of IIM Bodh Gaya, the MoU was signed by Dr Vinita S. Sahay, Director, and Dr Sabyasachi Mohaparta, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Career Development Cell.
This partnership signifies IIM Bodhgaya’s commitment to providing industry-relevant education while also contributing to Ericsson's mission to nurture talent in the fintech and mobile finance sectors.
Strengthening Industry-Academia Partnerships
Anuj Mohan Sherry, Head of Professional Services, Ericsson MFS, emphasized the importance of industry-academia collaborations in driving innovation and skill development. Professor Sabyasachi Mohapatra, Chairperson of the Career Development Cell at IIM Bodhgaya, shared that the MoU would also benefit Ericsson by providing a steady flow of highly skilled talent into their capacity pool. "This MoU is a testament to the institute’s commitment to reducing the cost of training at our partner’s end by ensuring a steady flow of desired talent into Ericsson’s capacity pool. The model shall provide a unique set of teaching aids and consolidated training material to enable the seamless and faster deployment of our students in the niche industry space," he said.
