Delhi University Alumni Secure Top Ranks in UPSC CSE 2023 Results: Two Among Top 5

5 girl students from Miranda House have passed UPSC with 4 in the top 50. Five students from Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College have qualified the UPSC, with one securing the ninth rank.
Delhi University alumni have clinched top positions in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 results, announced on April 16. Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh also expressed happiness on the achievements of former students of DU in the latest declared results of UPSC and said that this time two candidates in the top 5 are from DU.
Interestingly, there are a total of two female candidates in the top 5 and both of them have been students of DU, from Miranda House and St. Stephen's College. The Vice Chancellor said that the sixth position was also occupied by a student from the DU only. He told that a total of 5 girl students from Miranda House have passed UPSC and 4 out of the top 50 candidates are from this college.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh expressed elation at the outstanding achievements of former DU students, noting that two candidates from DU secured places in the top 5. Notably, both female candidates among the top 5 are DU alumni, hailing from Miranda House and St. Stephen's College.
Adding to the laurels, a student from DU also secured the sixth position in the UPSC CSE examination. Miranda House, in particular, has seen remarkable success, with five of its students qualifying for the UPSC, including four among the top 50 candidates.
Further spotlighting the achievements, five students from Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College have qualified for the UPSC, with one securing the ninth rank. Additionally, a student from Rajdhani College secured the 136th rank.
Prof. Singh extended his heartfelt congratulations to the successful candidates, their families, and all associated with DU for their remarkable achievements.
UPSC CSE 2023 results
The top three positions in the UPSC CSE 2023 results were claimed by Aditya Srivastava, Animesh Pradhan, and Donuru Ananya Reddy, respectively. Srivastava, holding a B.Tech in electrical engineering from IIT-Kanpur, opted for electrical engineering as his optional subject. Pradhan, a B.Tech graduate in computer science from NIT Rourkela, chose sociology as his optional subject, while Reddy, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Geography from Miranda House, opted for anthropology.
The top five candidates comprise three men and two women, showcasing gender diversity in the results. A total of 1,016 candidates, including 664 men and 352 women, have qualified for various services through the UPSC CSE 2023.
The UPSC Civil Services 2023 exams underwent a rigorous selection process, with the preliminary examination held on May 28, followed by the mains examination on September 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2023. The final personality test/interview round was conducted phase-wise from January 2 to April 9, 2024.
Marks of the candidates will be available on the UPSC website within 15 days from the date of declaration of the final result, offering a comprehensive overview of their performance in this esteemed examination.
