NDA Result 2023: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release NDA 1 result 2023 for the written exam in May 2023. NDA 2 result 2023 will be released in September 2023. The result will be announced on the official website, however, the direct link to check the same will be provided on this page. NDA result 2023 will be published in PDF form and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. NDA name-wise result 2023 will be released few days after the declaration of the roll number-wise result. On the basis of NDA result 2023, candidates will be called for SSB interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB). NDA merit list is prepared considering the marks obtained in the written exam and SSB interview. Those who qualify in the NDA merit list are offered admission in the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the  National Defence Academy and Indian Naval  Academy Course (INAC). 

NDA 1 Result 2023

NDA 1 result 2023 will be announced online by UPSC. The result will be announced in PDF form and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. NDA 1 result 2023 will be announced to select candidates for the courses commencing in January 2024. Candidates declared qualified in the written exam will appear for SSB interview. Final selection of candidates is done based on the written exam and SSB interview.

NDA result 2023 official website is upsc.gov.in. NDA 1 2023 exam will be conducted on April 16, 2023. NDA 2 2022 exam will be conducted on September 3, 2023. Qualified candidates are required to register themselves online on the Indian Army website within two weeks. Candidates will then be allotted selection centres and dates for SSB Interview. Candidates are also required to submit original certificates in support of age and educational qualification to respective SSBs during the interview. The marksheet of the written exam will be released within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result.

NDA Marksheet

NDA marksheet of candidates is made available on the official website within 15 days from the date of publication of NDA final result. NDA scorecard is available to download for a period of 30 days. NDA scorecard displays the following details:

How the Scores of Candidates are Calculated?

UPSC follows the marking scheme while calculating the scores of candidates. NDA marking scheme is given below:

  • In General Ability Test (GAT), candidates get four marks for correct answers
  • In the Mathematics section, for correct answers candidates score 2.5 marks
  • For wrong answers, 0.33 marks are deducted

Formula for Score Calculation

GAT- Number of correct answers x 4 – Number of incorrect answers x 0.33

Mathematics - Number of correct answers x 2.5 – Number of incorrect answers x 0.33

Stages of NDA Result

NDA result is declared in two stages. First, the result for the written exam is declared, which is followed by the declaration of the final result. The stages of NDA result are explained below:

NDA Result for Written Exam

The written exam as per NDA exam pattern comprises two sections-GAT and Mathematics. The total marks for the test are 900. UPSC prepares a list of candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Only such candidates are selected for SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test.

NDA Final Result

NDA final result is declared after the completion of the SSB Interview. Candidates are selected for admission to the Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force based on their performance in the written exam and SSB Interview. Candidates are required to secure separate minimum qualifying marks in both tests.

What After the Declaration of NDA Result?

Qualified candidates for the written exam are required to appear in the SSB Interview. The exam is a two-stage process based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test. All selected candidates are required to appear first in Stage 1. Only those candidates who qualify the Stage 1 are selected for Stage 2. Candidates who qualify for Stage 2 are required to submit the original certificates along with one photocopy of each original Class 10 pass certificate and Original 10+2 pass certificate.

NDA Merit List

The merit list for final selection is prepared as per the process given below:

  • A single combined merit list is prepared based on the total marks secured by candidates in the written exam and SSB Interview
  • The final allocation/selection for admission to the Army, Navy, Air Force of the National Defence Academy and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy is done as per the number of vacancies subjected to candidates' eligibility, medical fitness and merit-cum-preference
  • While allocation/selection to one service/course, they will not be considered for admission to other remaining services/courses

Tie-Breaking Policy 

When two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks in NDA exam, the ties are resolved as per age. This means candidates older in age are given preference.

NDA Cut off 

The cut off is released after the completion of the recruitment process. NDA cut off is different for written exam and SSB Interview. To qualify the exam, candidates need to secure the cut off marks separately in written exam and SSB Interview. The cut off marks for the written exam are calculated out of 900 marks. The final NDA cut off which is the marks secured by the last recommended candidates is determined out of 1800 marks. Candidates can check below NDA previous years' cut off for 2022 and 2021.

A. UPSC releases the scores of candidates publicly who appear in the final stage of the exam but were not recommended for the recruitment exam. The scores and other details of the non-qualified candidates who opted for disclosure of their details under the disclosure scheme are given in PDF form.  

Q: Is 450 a good score in NDA?

A: Candidates need to secure above 450 marks to clear the written test. After clearing the written test candidates are called for SSB interview. The interview is conducted for five days and the interview is for 900 marks

Q: What is NDA exam pattern?

A: NDA written exam is divided into two parts, GAT and Mathematics . All the questions in the exam carry an objective type. There are a total of 150 questions in GAT while the Mathematics part carries a total of 120 questions. Each section of the exam is held for 2 ½ hours. The GAT section carries 600 marks while the Mathematics section carries 300 marks . The GAT section is divided into two parts. Part A comprises English while Part B consists of General Knowledge. Candidates qualifying the CBT are called for SSB interview.

A: The marks of qualified candidates are released after the declaration of the final result. The scores are made available in PDF form. The score PDF comprises the names, roll numbers, written exam marks, SSB interview marks and total marks.

Questions in General Knowledge are asked from Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, General Science, Geography, and Current Events.

To appear in NDA. Exam, you only need to pass 12th board exam with any % of marks. NDA's merit list is prepared on the basis of performance of NDA written exam only.
