Overview

RRB Group D Application Form 2026: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) issued the application form for the RRB Group D exam 2026 for CEN No. 09/2025. The last date to apply was extended to March 9 from March 2. The fee payment last date was March 11. The application correction window dates were March 12 to 21. 

The application form was released to fill up a total of 22195 vacancies. RRB Group D application fees was INR 500 unreserved categories. The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class was INR 250. The application fee will be refunded after appearing in the Railway Group D exam.

RRB Group D 2025 appplication form was available from January 23 to March 1. Candidates could pay the application fees till March 3. RRB Group D application window was available from March 4 to 13.

How to apply for the RRB Group D 2026?

RRB Group D application form is released online by the examination authority. There is no facility to submit the application form offline. The hard copy of the application form is not required to be sent by post. Candidates can pay the application form online. After candidates appear in the CBT, the application fee is refunded to candidates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories are entitled to a full refund of their examination fees, INR 250. Candidates belonging to the General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, INR 400 after deducting the bank charges. 

How to apply for the RRB Group D 2026 exam?

Candidates can check below the methods to apply for the RRB Group D exam.

  • Visit at rrbcdg.gov.in
  • Click on the 'New Registration Link'.
  • Candidates need to register for the exam by providing the details including the name, date of birth, fathers' name, etc.
  • Submit the registration form.
  • During the process of registration, verify email ID and mobile number through OTP. 
  • On the homepage, login by providing the registration number and password.
  • In Part I of the application form, candidates required to provide the educational qualification, community, gender, religion, etc.
  • In Part II, candidates need to indicate his or her priority or preference for the posts.
  • Now after completing the application details, pay the fee.
  • Candidates also need to choose the language of an exam.
  • Enter bank details to get the refund of fees.
  • Upload the scanned images of photographs and signatures as per the format and SC/ST candidates need to upload the category certificates.
  • Finally, submit the application form by agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Important Instructions while filling the RRB Group D application form

Candidates are required to fill the RRB Group D application form carefully as missing a small instruction may lead to the rejection of the application form, or disqualification or loss of candidature at later stages. Candidates can check below the important instructions required before applying:

  • Candidates are require to fill the RRB Group D application form once. Multiple applying or submitting the application form can lead to rejection.
  • It is also recommended to create an account as details cannot be edited later.
  • During the  application process, live photo capture is also mandatory. Uploading of it is not permitted. As uploading old or blurred images or images not matching with the live capture instructions can result into the rejection of the application form.
  • Candidates also need to upload their own signatures in running handwriting.
  • Candidates are required to complete the educational qualification as mentioned because those candidates waiting for their results are not eligible to apply.
  • If a candidate fails to provide the prescribed medical standard for the post they are selected then no alternative post will be offered. 
  • Aadhaar or DigiLocker verification is strongly recommended.
  • The name of an exam centre, date and shift cannot be changed.
  • The fee will be refunded if a candidate appear in the CBT.

Q:   What is RRB Group D selection process?
A: 

RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

The reasons for rejection of RRB Group D application form are given below: Application forms might be rejected due to invalid photos Signature in capital/block letters Not satisfying the prescribed qualification for the post Over-aged or under-aged or Date of Birth wrongly filled Multiple applications to different Railway zones or to the same Railway zone.
