West Bengal GNM Nursing 2025: Dates, Registration, Pattern, Syllabus, Admit Card, Result, Counselling

The WB GNM programme is three and a half years long. Until last year, the West Bengal Health & Family Welfare Department was the governing body, and admissions were given based on the candidates' performance in the previous test. WBJEEB has taken over and will administer the entrance exam to encourage entry into the West Bengal GNM Nursing course for the 2025-26 season. Applicants seeking admission to the West Bengal GNM programme will be shortlisted this year after taking an entrance exam and going through a counselling phase. There are 2817 seats out of which 2692 seats are for female candidates and 125 seats are for male candidates.

The West Bengal GNM Nursing program's eligibility requirements have been set by the organising body and the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The following are the requirements:

• Candidates must have completed class 12 from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other recognised Council/Board with a minimum of 40% in aggregate
• As of December 31, 2025, the candidate's age should be at least 17 years old and no more than 27 years old
• The candidate must be an Indian national and a permanent resident of the West Bengal District
• The candidate must be fluent in Bengali or Nepali and be able to read, write, and speak the language
• Students studying Vocational Agriculture or Vocational Home Science may also apply

Based on the performance and score in the common entrance exam, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board will shortlist candidates for admission to the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. Based on the results of the entrance exam, a merit list will be prepared and released. The merit list will be compiled using the top four subjects. One of the mandatory subjects will be English. After all the above processes, WB GNM applications must be submitted. The conducting authority will publish a merit list on the official website.

West Bengal GNM application form 2025 will be available online at the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. There is no other way to submit the WB GNM application form. The direct link to apply via the online application for West Bengal GNM admissions will be activated on the official website. Candidates must pay the WB GNM application fee via Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.

• Create an account by registering using personal details such as name, address and mobile number 
• Complete and submit the application form
• Scan and upload a copy of your picture and signature
• Pay the application fee only via the internet
• Save a copy of the confirmation page and the admit card for future reference

The WB GNM exam pattern is important to understand for the candidates to appear for the offline entrance exam. The WB GNM 2025 entrance exam will be conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). The exam will comprise of sixty-five (65) questions. All of the questions will be multiple-choice (MCQs) with four possible answers. The exam duration will be 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the paper. The questions except the English and logical reasoning sections, will be provided in both English and Bengali medium. 

The seat matrix for the academic session 2025-26, will be reported/published on the Board's website by the competent administrator before the counselling begins. According to estimates from last year, there are 2817 seats out of which 2692 seats are for female candidates and 125 seats are for male candidates.
