Yes, a JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) is required to qualify for the merit-based scholarships offered at Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC) for B.Tech students.

The college provides tuition fee waivers based on specific rank brackets in the JEE Main examination. These scholarships are applicable for all four years of the B.Tech program, provided the student maintains the required academic and attendance standards.

AKGEC B.Tech Merit Scholarship Criteria (2026-27)

The scholarship amount is a percentage of the tuition fee, determined by your All India Rank:

A percentile of 90 in JEE Main would translate to approximately 1,00,000 to 1,55,000 rank in the exam. With this rank, you might get into Netaji Subhas University of Technology.

This university had the last round cutoff ranging between 55963 and 148808. Students can click here to know more.

With a 74.8 percentile in JEE Main and the EWS category, you have a very strong chance of getting admission into the Mining Engineering branch at MBM University, Jodhpur.

With a 98.35 percentile in JEE Main, you are in a very strong position. This score generally corresponds to an All India Rank (AIR) between 18,000 and 22,000, which opens doors to several prestigious National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

1. Top NIT Options (Other State Quota)

While Computer Science (CSE) at the top 5 NITs (like Trichy or Warangal) might be difficult for the General category, you have excellent chances for CSE in mid-tier NITs and core branches in elite NITs:

  • CSE / IT / AI-DS:

    • NIT Patna

    •  Raipur

    • NIT Hamirpur

    • N

If you are unable to check JEE Main result, then don't worry. This happens due to high traffic on website. Wait for a few moments and try later.

NTA will cancel the JEE Mains results and debar any candidate who cheats, switches assigned centres, uses a proxy, or attempts the same exam session multiple times.

There is no fee to register for JoSAA counselling. However,  Upon receiving a seat for the first time, candidates must remit the seat acceptance fee in the respective round.

No, separate counselling is not held for  NITs, IIITs and GFTIs admission. A single counselling process is held - JoSAA.

The JoSAA counselling process is held at the national level and is completely online. The counselling is held in five or six rounds every year, and each round includes seat allotment, seat confirmation by candidates, online reporting at the allotted institute, and payment of fees.
