History
Patna University is among the oldest universities in India to be founded under British rule. Founded in 1917, Patna University Bihar is a public university and is the 7th oldest public university in the Indian subcontinent. The University operates as a state university under the Government of Bihar. Because of its historical foundation, University of Patna takes on the relevance of heritage.
Location
The Patna University, Patna campus is located in the city of Bihar capital in Patna and covers an area of 181.58 acres. The location of the campus is on the banks of the Ganges river. The area was strategically selected for the growth of students by the then British authorities. Patna Vishwavidyalaya provides its students with a library, auditorium, seminar or conference halls, guest houses, internet & wifi, hostels, and canteen, among others.

There are over 30 departments under 13 affiliated colleges that collectively run over 80 courses at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The Patna University Entrance Exam 2025 results has been announced online on the official website. The candidate's scores and rank will be mentioned. According to the rank secured, qualified students will be called for counselling to the university. Candidates needs to keep their valid credentials ready to be verified by the authorities while claiming a seat via counselling rounds. Students who make the merit list will be called for the counselling session which will be conducted in the university. There will be different phases of counselling, depending on the seats left and the cut-offs.
