Soaring Through Aviation Excellence: Students of Parul University at Bangalore

2 mins readUpdated on Nov 11, 2025 13:24 IST

For the civil and aeronautical enthusiasts of Parul University, Bangalore with its tech and aerospace vibes turned out be an extended playground. From the start, the atmosphere was vibrant with buzzing labs, shining aircraft, and eager experts who wanted to bring abstract theories alive with experiences.

The first visit was at URSC headed by Rama Laxmi Mam, Associate Director, who walked students through India's aspiring space projects. These included SPAdEx, Aditya L1, Chandrayaan-4, and Gaganyaan. Her message that hard work and dedication will always pay dividends, whatever comes in the way hit home. Students got to experience first hand the cleanrooms where the satellites are assembled and asked about what's on the horizon.

Stepping Back in Time at HAL

Seeing jets like Marut, MIG-21, HT-2, and the Lakshya pilotless target aircraft up close at the HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum was a surreal experience for the students. It was more than just nostalgia, students realised that innovation builds on legacy, and no goal is unreachable when minds are set.

Learning from Legends at Vishweshwaraiah Museum

Students at Vishweshwaraiah Museum went back to start of engineering and flying from models of mechanisms to Wright Brothers' flying simulations. They saw the simple concepts turn into revolutionary new tech that change the world. The visit reminded everyone that history can inspire the future.

Industry Perspectives from Experienced Scientists

Virtual sessions with Debadatta Mishra, the former ISRO and DRDO scientist brought industry-level talent to the students' doorsteps. Students worked with their hands on aircraft manufacturing, space development, and critical software technologies while appreciating curiosity outside of the four classroom walls.

Aviation Experts Advice

From Hindustan Aviation Academy to Bangalore Aviation Industry Pvt. Ltd., industry experts including Sateesh Mysore and KE Girish educated students on career opportunities, AME functions, designing aircraft, testing and maintaining aircraft. Students explored Cessna, Airbus, and Boeing-equipped hangars and saw intricate systems bring classroom equations to life as flying vehicles.

The Fauji Way with Wing Commander Sonika Tanwar

The interaction with Ex-Indian Air Force Wing Commander Sonika Tanwar, who deconstructed 'FAUJI (Fighter, Agile, Unity, Joyful, Integrity) was unforgettable. Her experiences of operational terrains and high-stakes missions were moving especially for the lady students, proving that courage, discipline, and devotion can be success mantras for all, across the world.

Up Close: Technologies and Operations During their visit to Wipro and TAAL Tech India Pvt. Ltd.

Students saw IT solutions for airports, runway maintenance, ATC operations, and the careful attention that each aircraft touchdown receives. Actual witnessing of operations and interaction with professionals developed a healthy dose of reverence for unglamorous hard work that guarantees safe airspace. Sandeep Thakur's presentation on airframes again reinforced that aircraft strength, just as in human beings, is from within.

Hands-on Training at Dayanand Sagar College

The tour came to an end Dayanand Sagar College with a look at wind tunnels, flight simulation, and modern labs. The advice given by Dr. Ramaseshan Satagopan, focused on self-confidence, hard work, and continuous innovation. Students ulitmately left with new ideas about practical aeronautical engineering and its purpose.

Taking Flight Beyond the Classroom

By the end of the tour, Parul University students were not just passive spectators; they went through the India's aviation and aerospace history. They now knew the sky was not the limit, it was their starting point. Curiosity, work ethic, and desire to learn will surely be the wings for these students as they navigate their future pursuits, and ready to sometimes boldly, chart their course in aviation.
