It has excellent teachers and learning options, amazing infrastructure and campus, good placements.

Placements: We are currently in our first year, but we get internship opportunities through the Ashoka Internship Cell, Career Development Office, etc. Through the superset platform, we had a diverse range of companies from BigBasket to several NGOs.

Infrastructure: I have never been to the campus as the college has been online due to the pandemic. However, I heard very good reviews about the facilities and infrastructure from our seniors. There are a lot of sports facilities and medical facilities. There are multiple libraries, and the mess has various options too.

Faculty: Teachers are extremely helpful, qualified, knowledgeable and accommodating. They managed to make the online semesters quite interactive and interesting too. The course curriculum is relevant, and many professors teach through practical and real-life problem models.

A premier research institution that is experiencing an increasing corporate presence.

Placements: Well-prepared students get placed. The highest package is around 35 LPA, the lowest is 5 LPA, and the average is around 9 LPA to11 LPA. Top companies include McKinsey and BCG. Top roles offered are Business Analyst and Management Trainee. Most of the students who sit for internships or jobs do get placed.

Infrastructure: The top infrastructure in terms of classrooms, library, and workstations is available. The quality of infrastructure, from the hostel to the quality of food and facilities, is top-notch. However, sometimes the food quality might not be the best, but the mess team is always receptive to feedback.

Faculty: All professors are either foreign PhDs or hold PhDs from institutes like ISI in India. The course curriculum is balanced, from theory to applied, all are industry-relevant. Most of the courses are very rigorous and academically challenging. Adherence to deadlines is a must.

Other: Ashoka has the best UG economics faculty in India. Fees are very high, hence the RoI is not the best. Campus life is very happening, with more than 100 clubs and societies to enhance the social culture on campus.

Challenging and prepares you for the real world.

Placements: Approximately 20-30% were placed from on-campus placements last session. The highest for 4-year UG students was 35 LPA and the lowest was 8LPA. BCG, Accenture, and HUL are among the popular ones. 95% of students get internships in companies like Ogilvy, HDFC Bank, KPMG, etc. Associate consultant and analyst are among the popular roles.

Infrastructure: Everything is available, among the tier 1 colleges. ACs, regular cleaning, 24/7 Wi-Fi, everything available, and complaints are addressed promptly. Hostels have been clean as always, and daily cleaning done with all amenities available. The infirmary is open 24/7 and medical help can be acquired at any time with specialized doctors coming in weekly. All sports from TT to shooting to football are available and have formulated teams.

Faculty: Our faculty members are learned and approachable. They explain concepts well and are there when needed. Practical examples and teaching methods are synergised to induce critical thinking. The course curriculum is relevant and includes topics necessary for economic understanding. Although I would prefer more field visits and real life teaching methods. Semester exams are tough to extremely tough. Passing percentage is above 45%.

Good place, good people, bad academics.

Placements: Most people from my batch did get placed, however, very few got the jobs they wanted. For my batch placements were particularly bad, since most consulting companies did not hire. The top recruiters were DE Shaw, Deloitte, BCG and HUL. The highest CTC was 35LPA but that is one off instances, second the highest was 24LPA. Average according to me would have between 8-9LPA. This is CTC, not in hand salary. Most people were places in startups or consulting.

Infrastructure: We have everything that is needed, I cant complain about the infrastructure. There were small issues, where Wi-Fi was slow or Library used to be full but overall, I don't think anyone in Ashoka can complain about the infrastructure. AC's are everywhere, Wi-Fi is everywhere, classrooms are nice and clean and up to date. There is ample of common areas and places to eat.

Faculty: The faculty is distinguished and are famous, however, most of them did not know how to teach, or couldn't care less about teaching. In general the courses are fully theory and will only help you if you want to pursue further research. Almost everyone passes the semester, each professor has a separate grading style for their course, so one class could have 3 exams, and another could only have assignments.

Other: I chose the course because I did not know what else to do, about 50% people in Ashoka do economics or economics and finance. They also have the same reason. I do not think out of the 300 odd people in my batch studying Economics or EcoFin more than 5 scared about actually studying Economics. People only scared about the grades and therefore studied it. But that's okay I guess since that what most engineers also do. What I can assure everyone is that they will find their type of people in Ashoka, there is no bullying or harassmement.

Great faculty, new in the sphere but expanding rapidly, great infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Placements for our senior batches are 100% and students from our college also go abroad for higher studies to pursue their Masters or Ph.D. We have companies like big 4 MC, Kenzie banks and social sectors for the recruitment. The stipend is from 10000-30000.

Infrastructure: All the facilities needed for a student is provided. Our sports complex is well-equipped. Rooms have Acs and other required facilities. The washrooms are cleaned. Classrooms have all the latest technology to support students. Mess food and other outlets provide quality foods.

Faculty: Faculty and curriculum is the USP of Ashoka. It's a liberal art college so it gives great opportunity to explore. Professors in the university are helpful, highly qualified and knowledgeable. We have FCs and gateway courses which help us to choose majors and minors.

Other: 75% of students are on scholarship. College has great facilities for sports and other activities. Good exposure is given. Ashoka has best faculty in India.

Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview and on-the-spot assessment comprising of an essay and an optional AAT (Ashoka Aptitude Test) on the basis of 10+2 marks, extracurricular activities and ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores. Higher score out of AAT (Ashoka Aptitude Test) or ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or board marks will be considered while taking a decision on an applicant’s candidature. In case a candidate is unable to appear for the interview, he/she may attend the interview over Skype.
Final Selection
Students will be selected based on their potential for academic rigor and extra-curricular engagement. These include AAT (Ashoka Aptitude Test) or ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores or 10+2 marks projects, and research, if applicable, as well as the disciplined and committed pursuit of varied interests and passions. Equally, the on-the-spot essay written at the time of the interview and the in-person interview with the panel, also contribute to the decision for admission.
