Assam University BA Courses & Fees 2025: Eligibility, Admission, Seats, Placements, Application

Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will soon release the Assam HS routine. As per the last year's Assam HS exam routine, the AHSEC Class 12 exams 2026 are expected to be held in February and March 2026. Assam Higher Secondary Board exams are held in two shifts. The first shift exams is held from 9 am to 12 pm and the second shift exams from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The Assam HS examination will commence with English paper and concluded with Anthropology or Sociology or Salesmanship and Advertising papers.

There are more than 30 colleges that are affiliated with Assam University and offer BA courses in various specialisations. The the highest number of BA seats are offered by Janata College. The seat intake is 5,090. This college offers BA courses in several specialisations such as Hindi, Political Science, Economics, Environmental Studies, etc.  

The career options after Assam University BA are majorly divided into two categories the first one is students can pursue higher studies after completing their course or secondly, can get a job. Yes, Assam University does offer undergraduate courses in the arts through its affiliated colleges and constituent departments. The university might not offer BA courses on its campus except integrated BA courses. However, the affiliated college of Assam University offers several specialisations in BA courses such as English, Political Science, History, etc. Additionally, the Bachelor in Arts course are available for the duration of three to four years and is offered in both full-time and part-time mode.

The minimum education qualification asked by the university to get admission into the BA course is candidates must complete their Class 12 from their respective boards of education. However, as admission is based on merit, candidates must achieve good scores in their Class 12 to be considered in the merit list.
