Real colors of DMC&H, college of nursing, Ludhiana, Malakpur.
Placements: All students are asked if they want to work in the hospital or not, and based on the interview, they get placements in different hospital departments. You have to work in shifts, morning, evening, and night, even during your student life. You can't even close your eyes during night duty, even if there is no work. Although no stipend is provided during the internship, you will gain a lot of practical exposure.
Infrastructure: College has a gym, mess, and TV room, but none of the gym equipment works, and the TV subscription is not even renewed. There is a large ground and a basketball court. The rooms are small considering the number of people living in them. The food is average, with no fruits or milk served. The canteen is too expensive, and online food delivery is not allowed. Outings are also prohibited, and parents are not allowed to enter the campus unless the warden gives permission. While it is understandable that parents cannot enter the hostel rooms, they are not even allowed inside the college campus.
Faculty: Faculty rarely gives high assessment marks; unlike other colleges where you can score up to 22 or 23 out of 25, here you’ll usually get around 19 or 20 at most. Students are often used as unpaid labor in the hospital, leaving them too exhausted to focus on their studies, which leads to failing exams. The environment can be toxic, and many students here suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, often requiring psychiatric medication. Some teachers mentally harass students to the point where they lose interest in everything.
Other: In the name of activities, they organize seminars or exhibitions that only exhaust you even more. Sports events last for just one day, from 8 AM to 2 PM, and that’s it. As students here, we are trauma-bonded and end up causing each other more trauma.

The best college if you want to have more clinical exposure.
Placements: This college has a great knowledgeable faculty, which makes the students skillful, furthermore enhancing students' capabilities. Because of this, students easily clear government competitive exams like NORCET, SGPGI, and foreign exams like NCLEX for RN in Canada, the US, and Australia.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus and the hostel is okay. Hostel rooms are not that wide, but the hostel expenses are too much, which makes the government college as costly as a private one. The hostel doesn't have any Wi-Fi facility. There is no canteen available inside the hostel, but outside there is a small one.
Faculty: The faculty of the nursing college is great. It has a library that has a lot of competitive books for your future. Most of the faculty are Ph.D. holders. These faculty members hold great knowledge in the healthcare field. They provide knowledge and skills for students, which are very helpful for the future.

    Really best college in Mohali.
Placements: 3 to 5% of students were placed in various hospitals. The highest package started from Rs 70,000 per month, and the average package was about Rs 45,000 per month and Rs 25,000 per month without hostel. Recruiting companies were mainly in the private hospital. We got our internship from the hospital, GMC, and rest of the private clinics. The roles offered in our course were the X-ray technician, computed tomography, MRI, and various others.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course was quite good. Classrooms were spacious, equipped with projectors, and had clean seating. Our labs were well-maintained with proper computers, lab assistants, and updated software. Library had a decent collection of books and also provided access to online journals. Hostel facilities were average. Rooms were shared (usually 2 or 3 students), and the basic amenities were provided like a bed, table, chair, and cupboard. Wi-Fi was available but sometimes slow. The mess food was okay, though not great. It was edible but repetitive. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly, but water issues sometimes occurred.
Faculty: Faculty members at my college were well-qualified and supportive. Most professors had either a Ph.D. or industry experience. They explained concepts clearly and were approachable outside class hours as well. Some professors were strict, but overall they care about student learning. The curriculum was up-to-date with current industry trends, especially in the final years. It included both theoretical and practical subjects. In computer science, we had subjects like data structures, DBMS, operation systems, and even electives on AI and machine learning. There were regular internal assessments and lab work that helped in understanding real-world applications.

    Great infrastructure and decent placements.
Placements: 100% of students undergo compulsory internships. There is no formal highest or average package. The student can join a government or private hospital. There are 100% internships within the college hospital, as it is a medical course regulated by the government.
Infrastructure: Our department has decent infrastructure with AC rooms, functional labs and good Wi-Fi access in academic blocks. Hostel rooms are average but livable with regular water and electrical supply. The food in the mess is nutritional, but not very tasty. The canteen has limited options.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are knowledgeable and well-qualified. The curriculum covers both theoretical and practical aspects, making students industry-ready for internships. The pass percentage is generally around 85-90%, and semester exams are moderately difficult.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Dialysis Techniques, as I have always wanted to serve people. The best part of the course is the mix of theoretical knowledge and clinical exposure. There should be more use of modern teaching methods like simulations and better teacher-student interaction. The college hosts annual fests and medical conferences, and the crowd is mostly from Punjab and nearby states.

I'm dissatisfied because of faculty, good infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: College is very good and has quality service. Students are placed in government jobs and some are in foreign countries by NCLEX and NORCET. The highest package of college is 1.50 LPA. The lowest package is Rs. 70,000 per year. The average package of college is 1 LPA.
Infrastructure: God labs are available in college and every subject is available in their library like anatomy, fundamentals of nursing, medical surgical nursing, etc. Hostel is outside from college and it is very nice. The quality of food is good and very strict for discipline.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified with degrees like M.Sc. and B.Sc. in nursing. Good books are provided by them. Semester exams and quality of education are very good. Minimum percentage of every semester is 50% marks. Exam are held in our of college.
Other: I chose this course because it's scope is wide.

The college offers an amazing nightlife and has excellent infrastructure.
Placements: I am pursuing BSc nursing and our batch of 2022 consists of 60 students. The package remains the same for most students, as only a few receive scholarships if they belong to minority groups. College follows its own admission system. Once students graduate, they can join the hospital for experience-based opportunities.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available at the college of nursing and in areas like OPDs, but not everyone has access to the passwords. Though individual colleges may lack certain facilities. Hostels are good for some colleges, but for nursing, they are not up to the standards.
Faculty: Although teachers are qualified, they are often egoistic and not very helpful in terms of communication, as they expect students to handle everything independently. If students take initiative, they sometimes get upset about actions taken without their permission. Semester exams are university-dependent, so college does not play a significant role in them.
