IPU CET is a National Level Exam. IPU CET or Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test, is competitive examination conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) in Delhi, India. In IPU CET for each correct answer, four marks will be given, and for each incorrect answer, one mark will be reduced. There are no marks deducted for unanswered questions. Examination is conducted for 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates must know the marking scheme before attempting exam.

No, IPU CET 2026 will not be conducted twice. It will be conducted only once a year for each course. The exam dates will be from March 2026 to May 2026 for various courses. 

The topics included for IPU CET BTech (Biotechnology) are Physics - 20%, Chemistry - 20% Mathematics - 20% Biology - 40% or Biotechnology - 40%.

The weightage given for the various topics is Applied Mechanics- (25%) Applied Mathematics- (25%) Computer Awareness and Physics / Chemistry Knowledge- (25%) Analytical and Logical Reasoning- (25%). .

The subjects included for Lateral Entry B.Tech for Diploma Holders in IPU CET are

The official syllabus will not be made public by IPU CET University. The IPU CET 2026 undergraduate syllabus will be based on the Class 11 and 12 curriculum. It is recommended that candidates review and go over every topic and concept they studied in Classes 11 and 12. 

Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. University will not conduct a separate IPU CET for admission to BTech course. The admission to BTech course is based on JEE Main marks. Candidates who want to join Engineering must have a valid JEE Main score.

Candidates must have passed three years Diploma in relevant subject with a minimum of 60% marks. Appeared in IPU CET and name must be in merit list/rank list. Candidates must have cleared Mathematics as a subject at Class 12 level or should have studied Mathematics as a subject in first year of the Diploma programme. Candidates must not have any backlog in any of the subjects in the qualifying examination.

For Lateral Entry BTech, BSc Candidates should have passed BSc. With Mathematics as a subject. The candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks from any recognised University. The candidates should have appeared in the IPU CET. The name of the candidate should be there in the merit list/rank list.

BTech (Lateral Entry) for Diploma holders

Candidates must have passed a Diploma to apply for BTech Lateral Entry.

The official website is the only platform for admit cards. The IPU CET Admit Card will not be posted elsewhere. Once application form is submitted, IPU CET Admit Card will be accessible. Candidates should have a valid JEE Main scorecard to apply for IPU CET B.Tech counselling. Admission to the B.Tech course is given based on JEE Main score, followed by IPU CET counselling. IPU CET counselling is being conducted in online mode. The candidates are allotted seats during IPU CET counselling. The documents required for verification are JEE Main admit card & result (for B.Tech course), IPU CET 2026 score card (B.Tech (BioTechnology), Lateral Entry to B.Tech Programmes for B.Sc. Graduates, Lateral Entry to B.Tech Programmes for Diploma holders) caste category Certificate admission receipt, provisional allotment letter, and conduct Certificate. The candidates must make sure that all the documents are provided during document verification. After confirmation of the seats, candidates have to go through the document verification process.

The registration for counselling will begin after exam results are out. Once registration for counselling is open, candidates must complete registration formalities. Then candidates will be able to proceed with selection of preferred choices.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University considers the merit/score of the National Level Test score conducted by agencies other than the University for admission to the B.Tech LL.B. MCA LL. M. and MBA. Only applicants who have passed the relevant National Level Test will be considered for admission through the university's counselling process if they meet the eligibility and admission requirements. No, the IPU CET counselling fee of 1,000 is non-refundable.
