No, students who want to take MCA admission at GITAM University Visakhapatnam need to sit and appear for entrance exam. Admission into MCA (Master Computer Applications) will be based on an All India GITAM Science Admission Test (GITAM GAT) conducted by GITAM University and the rule of reservation, wherever applicable. 

To be eligible to pursue MCA at GITAM, applicants are required to have scored at least 50% in BCA/bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering. A relaxation of 5% in the eligibility requirement is given to the candidates belonging to the resereved categories. Hence, candidates belonging to reserved categories with a minimum of 45% in BCA/bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering are eligible to apply for the programme. However, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission to the institute's MCA programme. MCA admission at GITAM is entrance-based. The seats are allotted to the candidates with a valid score in the accepted entrance exam. GITAM Visakhapatnam BSc admissions are entirely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme offered in any of the affiliated colleges of the University must appear for GITAM Admission Test (GAT) followed by the Personal Interview.
