MECHANICAL ENGINEERING - Batch of 2020
    2

    Great infrastructure, poor experience.
Placements: Only IT companies visited, and just 2 companies visited for mechanical/civil. Students were placed in rural companies that were unstable and treated engineering graduates like ITI or Diploma workers. Most of the companies had an understanding with the college, hiring students for the sake of numbers and never really releasing the offer letters. For the ones that did, they fired the students after 3 months. The students were not allowed to choose an internship of their liking in a field they wanted to pursue and had to pursue their internship by paying a fee.
Infrastructure: Hostel and Wi-Fi were the best parts of the stay here. The calm atmosphere helped me study and become the topper of the batch. A great variety of food was provided in the mess, with monthly fests featuring special dishes. The gym had fair equipment. There was an evening doctor who visited twice a week, if I remember correctly.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, but in a professional degree, practical understanding and experience matter most. The environment was such that students were only taught on the blackboard, and critical conceptual questions hurt the ego of the lecturers. In my course at least, the lab assistants were more knowledgeable by dint of practical experience and expertise. Nevertheless, it was a relief that the institution was under VTU, and we faced examinations from the board, which allowed students to be awarded the marks that they deserve. A culture of fines and penalties for hall ticket and attendance shortage existed.
Other: I chose this course and college because of KCET allotment and proximity to my hometown. I wish the training and placement office wouldn’t falsely advertise and delete comments from students on LinkedIn and other social media platforms.

Not at all a good college for placements and fake marketing.
Placements: Roughly 20-30 students are placed, and the college people put fake placement numbers. The highest package is 7 LPA and the lowest is 2 LPA. 5% of students got internships in Bosch and KodNest. Role offered is software developer. From 1000 final year students only less than 50 students got placed. It is a worst college for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good having unlimited Wi-Fi, a good library, and the canteens are good but the mess is bad. There is no preference for sports, only study, and they charge us money for every small thing. Hostel is good with three-sharing and two-sharing rooms with attached bathrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are not all qualified, we watch YouTube and prepare for exams. We are under VTU so the curriculum is old but is essential in software engineering. The exams are at a moderate level and if you study 1 week earlier you can easily pass with good grades as well.

Overall college is good with faculty members.
Placements: Top recruiters for civil engineering Larsen and Toubro, Tata Projects, etc. Almost 50% of students got placed. The salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. Top roles offered are site engineering, design engineering, quality engineering, and water resources engineering.
Infrastructure: The college has quality Wi-Fi and labs for students. Classes have quality teaching screenboards. The college has a digital library. This college has a separate hostel for boys and girls on the campus with security, a canteen, sports, and games have good quality.
Faculty: The teaching has high quality with educated faculty members. The college conducted industry visits for students. The semester exam conducted with students who regularly attend class will be helpful for students. Exams have multiple answers, and theory exams also have.
Other: My batch is 2024-2027, and I am studying in the 2nd year of civil engineering.

The college has the best infrastructure in Davanagere.
Placements: Around 50% of students in our course get placed in jobs. The average salary package is about 3 lakhs per year, while top companies like Infosys, Wipro, and PayPal offer salaries of around 34 lakhs for IAS roles. About 60% of our students also secure internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in our college for Wi-Fi and lab is pretty good. We have quite an impressive library which is large enough for 200 students to be seated in. The hostel facility and food facilities are quite good. The importance of sports is also better.
Faculty: However, the teachers aren't very helpful despite being qualified (like having PhDs). The course prepares students to be nearly industry-ready, but the semester exams can be quite challenging, and sometimes the questions are beyond the syllabus.
Other: I chose the core because of my parents and the things we could learn and discuss about artificial intelligence and how it works. The new things that I could think about but could improvise it is they should updating the syllabus on what the topics are going around the world. We do our scholarships like SSP and best like Malika in our college.

Overall, I say that it is a good college in our locality.
Placements: The percentage of students who got placed in my course is nearly 60%. The highest package is 14 LPA. The lowest is 3 LPA. SLK is our top recruiting company. Almost all students got internships in some or the other companies, Overall, there are average placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. It has a clean environment inside the campus. The Wi-Fi connection is good. Labs are up to the mark. The library is very good and comfortable. The hostel facility is good and they lag in sports and games. But it's still good.
Faculty: Teachers in our course are not up to the mark, but still, some of them are good and teach us very well. Some of the course curriculum is not relevant to us. As I'm an EC student, I don't need AI or Java, but they are there for us as a 3 credit subject. Exams are a bit difficult to score but it's easy to pass.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest. I'm interested in designing the microchip. Giving us the correct guidance and required subject may help us to improve ourselves in the course. The college fests are not up to the mark. There are no scholarships in our college. There are minimum extracurricular activities.

    A review from a student's perspective.
Placements: 0% of students are placed in our college. Students are offered only by taking courses from outside and placed. Here, the institution gives fake information to the people and takes the admission. They give money to other people and put out posters of the students that they've placed.
Infrastructure: The facilities here are average. The infrastructure fee is 2 LPA and an extra registration fee is up to Rs. 15,000. The Wi-Fi has a very poor network connection, but the classrooms are very good. Library is of average level. The hostel is worse than anything, the food is not hygienic, several times we found mosquitoes and cockroaches in the food. Firstly, they said the food is unlimited, and now they provide food in only 1 plate. Canteen is good compared to the mess. There is no medical facility available. Sports are conducted every semester, like volleyball, throwball, badminton, and kabaddi for boys.
Faculty: Senior faculty members are helpful, but the tutors here are the worst and have less knowledge about the course. Senior faculty members are very well, high-qualified, and have good communication skills compared to the tutors. The course curriculum is not that relevant and it would not help the students in the industry. Semester exams are of average level. Out of 5 papers, 2 papers will be difficult. The passing marks for the semester exams are 26 out of 80.
Other: I chose this course because it is booming right now, and can get more skills and job opportunities. The institution needs to train the students about the course and give proper information about it. Instead of giving book knowledge like schools, they need to improve our skills and prepare for the jobs. There are several events organized in our college, like "Mallika", the annual fest, hackathons, ethnic day, and open day. Campus is good enough and the nature is also good. The students here do not have freedom to sit calmly, the watchman always restricts the students for everything, and it's like a prison. Extracurricular activities and some events are conducted, like dance, singing, poster presentations, bike racing, etc.
