Apart from this, 77.5% seats are filled under:

25% seats for the admission shall be open for all candidates while 75% will be filled out of the candidates, who have passed their qualifying exam from HP University or HP Krishi Vishwavidayalaya Palampur or Central Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, HP Technical University and Central University of Himachal Pradesh or the candidates who are Himachal domicile irrespective of passing qualifying examination from any other University. 

HPU Management Aptitude Test (HPU MAT) is conducted for admission to MBA programme of HPU Business School. HPU MAT question paper will consist of questions four sections viz.,  English Comprehension,   Business Environment,  General Knowledge and Reasoning and Numerical Skills. The General English part will have questions from Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability. Reasoning and Numerical section will include questions from algebra, statistics, number systems, percenatges, profit and loss and so forth. The General Awareness section will have questions from General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Business Scenario. Business Environment Areness section will imclude questions from World Economy, Indian Economy, Industry, Banking, Trade, Famous business tycoons & industrialists, corporate assocations BSE & NSE, logos & tags lines orf different companies and so forth.

The HPU MAT exam is an entrance exam conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU). This exam is conducted at university level for admission to MBA courses at HPU School of Business.

1. The HPU MAT is a computer-based test of two hours' duration with 200 questions. The HPU MAT exam is conducted once in a year.
2. The syllabus of the HPU MAT is similar to most management entrance test syllabuses, which include topics such as verbal ability, reading comprehension, quantitative ability, data adequacy, and data interpretation.
3. The exam application fee is INR 1000, and the language of the exam is English .

HPU offers scholarships as financial aid based on Economically backward category to students who belong to categories such as BPL for continuing their higher education. Sports scholarship to 16 students belonging from the teaching department for outstanding performance in sports, and cultural activity scholarship is awarded to 10 students for their performance in academic and cultural activities.

HPU MAT results 2026 will be declared at hpuniv.ac.in. The result are released on the official website of Himachal Pradesh University. Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to check their scores at hpuniv.ac.in. The HPU MAT scorecard mentions the details such as: candidate details, exam details, section-wise marks, overall marks and rank obtained. During the HPU MAT counselling process, on the basis of the score obtained, candidates will be called for selection rounds- group Discussion and Personal Interview.
