The university offers over 35 UG, PG, and Diploma courses. PTU offers courses in the streams of Engineering, Architecture, Science, Design, Law, Mass Communication & Media, etc. Moreover, the courses are offered in full-time, part-time, and distance modes. Candidates must meet the course-specific eligibility and selection conditions for admission to the desired course.

Q:   How can I take admission in I. K Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU)?

IKGPTU accepts admissions to programmes in either a direct way or through counseling. Students who are interested in pursuing any programme at the university must have to apply beforehand. A: 

For admission to the BTech programme at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), formerly known as Punjab Technical University (PTU), candidates must have a minimum of 45% aggregate in class 12. Candidates having a valid Class 12 score will be shortlisted for the counselling programme followed by document verification and tuition fee payment leading to final seat allotment in the BTech programme.

Decent academics and faculty with average infrastructure, and moderate placement opportunities.
Placements: Around 80 percent of students from our batch got placed depending on the specialisation and skill level. The highest package offered is around 10 LPA-12 LPA and the lowest is around 2 LPA-3 LPA. Top recruiter companies include Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Deloitte and some start-ups in sales and marketing domains. The top roles offered for business executive, marketing executive, sales executive, HR recruiter, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our department is quite decent and supports a good learning environment. Classrooms are spacious. Talking about the hostel its facilities are average but manageable like rooms are great. The condition of the hostel depends on how you keep it yourself.
Faculty: Teachers in our course are generally helpful, qualified, and have good subject knowledge. The course curriculum is fairly relevant and covers the fundamental concepts properly. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty. Students who attend classes regularly and prepare well can pass without any difficulty.

Placements: Our course has a good placement record. Many students getting placed in reputed companies. The average package offered is decent. Students also get internship opportunities in pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. Top roles offered include Quality Control, Production, Marketing, and research-related jobs.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is satisfactory. It provides a safe environment for students. The mess food quality is average but hygienic. Medical facilities, sports activities, classrooms, labs, and the library are good. I have a good experience in college. Wi-Fi and basic amenities are also available on the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. Teachers support students in both academic and practical learning. I like my college compared to other colleges. The course curriculum is updated and helps students become industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is quite good.

Really good infrastructure and facilities. I would highly recommended this college.
Placements: Almost 80% students from the class were placed with a top recruiter, and mostly were placed in the AIMS. Top roles in hospital were of a dietician, and others were in industry. A wide range of exposure to internships from the college. All the placement-related inquiries are cleared.
Infrastructure: Classes are well-equipped with infrastructure and whiteboards with a projector in each class. Every block has its own library. The hostel has Wi-Fi, a beauty parlour, and a gym for girls, and the mess food includes 4 meals. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Even the hostel includes a laundry system.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful during exams and clear all doubts. Semester exams are moderate, with 24 marks. Sample papers and previous year question papers are provided, and all issues are cleared out by the faculty who have excellent command of their work.
Other: This college is highly recommended. I am enjoying campus life. Festivals are organised and enjoyable with celebrities. Really, it is good to enjoy college life here. Many competitions are organised, and knowledge is provided at the best level.

Good college, but this is very far from states like Assam, West Bengal, and Odisha.
Placements: Placements are average. Mostly, analysis students get jobs in different QA, QC or analytical R&D sectors. Reventh Pharma, Mankind, Mcure, overseas, etc., visited our campus. Mostly, they offer between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000 per month. Many students were offered a 6-month internship at Mankind.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi is not working without a proxy. Labs are good, spacious and have all the apparatus used in industry. M.Pharm classes are air-conditioned. The library is good. There are two boys' hostels and a girls' hostel inside the campus. Canteen food is boring. There is a gym present.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are highly educated and experienced. They have all done their Master's and PhDs. They clear our doubts through discussions. The course curriculum is good, it makes us ready to explore a new world. There are two semesters in a year, and each semester has two sessionals, which are conducted by the college.

Good NIRF ranking, but village atmosphere.
Placements: Placements are average. Mostly, students are placed by referral from teachers and seniors. This year, Mankind, overseas Ravenbhel, Emcure, etc., visited our campus. Salary given was mostly from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. Mostly, students are placed in production sectors as QA officers or QC officers.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and on campus. There is a basketball court, a cricket ground, a badminton court and a volleyball court. Labs are spacious and have all the apparatus used in industry. There are two boys' hostels inside the campus. Mess food is very bad. The library is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, they are highly educated and experienced. They all have done their Master's and PhD. The course curriculum is good, it makes us ready for the industry. There are two semesters in a year, and each semester has two sessionals, which are conducted by the college.

Placements: In my course 80-90 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 1.14 crore per annum and the average package is 30 LPA-40 LPA. Top recruiters are Google, Microsoft, and TCS. 65 percent of students got internships in JP Morgan, Scaler AI, and Fico. Top roles offered in my college are software engineer and UI/UX.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities provided by my college like clean smart classrooms, full high-speed Wi-Fi, and a good library environment. Hostel has many facilities like Wi-Fi, indoor and outdoor games, a study room, and good infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well-educated, and highly knowledgeable. They provide full support and teach in a good manner. The course is curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are of an easy to moderate level. All topics are covered in classrooms. Pass percentage is 33 percent. The professors are supportive.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in engineering. The best thing about my course is that it improves logical thinking ability. I wish to reduce the subject's difficulty which would be better. Events and fests are conducted every year with a professional singer coming with many activities. The crowd is good and many more extracurricular activities are provided by clubs in college every week.

Q:   What is the fee refund policy at IKGPTU?
A: 

IK Gujral University follows a fee refund policy in case of cancellation of admission. In case a student withdraws his/ her seat before the start of the course, his/ her total fee is
refunded after deduction of INR 1,000 only.

In case a student surrenders his/ her seat after the beginning of the course and before /on last date of admission to that course, he/she get fee with proportionate deduction of
total monthly fee (full fee including development and other charges) and proportionate total hostel rent (all charges).

In case a student withdraws his /her seat after the last date of admission to that course, he /she does not get any refund.
