College Review of IIITDM Jabalpur.

Placements: In our college, 60 percent of students were placed last year. The student strength was around six hundred. The highest package was 6,00,000, and the highest package was around 60 lacs per annum. Many companies came to recruit students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. It includes lecture halls, libraries, hostels, administration, and labs. Hostel facilities are not that great, and for medical issues, they provide medicine facilities from the primary healthcare center within our campus.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified, most of them holding Ph.D.s from reputed institutions with a strong research background. There are a total of 8 semesters, each lasting six months. In every semester, there are two quizzes, one mid-semester exam, and one final exam.

Other: Overall, the campus life experience is good.

Placements: Smart manufacturing is a new branch, so the placements here are less compared to other branches like CSE, ECE, and ME, but last year, in 2024, students from some were placed in Business Analyst roles along with a few being placed in core jobs in Smart Manufacturing. The B.A. role was offered by Meesho, Playsimple Games, and PwC. The highest placement from some was 23 LPA, and the lowest was 13 LPA.

Infrastructure: The lecture hall and tutorial complex are very nice at IIITDM Jabalpur. All the classrooms are smart classes, and LHTC is Wi-Fi-enabled (more than 70%). The library has more than enough books from all fields of academics in engineering and also has books of fiction. Hostels are also good, and the hostel rent is only 11,000 INR, which is very nominal. First and second-year students are put in Hall 3 and Hall 4, which are triple sharing, whereas for third and fourth-year students, the college provides single rooms in Panini and Hall 1 hostels, respectively.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and have studied from foreign universities across the globe. All the classrooms being smart, the quality of teaching is top-notch in all subjects. My course, Smart Manufacturing, mainly covers present-day hot topics like IoT, IIoT, CPPS, Business Analysis, SolidWorks, etc. These subjects make students industry-ready. Semester exams are not very hard, but it depends on the course and faculty teaching the course. The pass percentage is more than 95%.

Other: I chose this course at IIITDM Jabalpur because it was the best option available for me based on the rank I acquired in the JEE Main examination. The best thing about my course is that it’s new and focuses on current industry requirements. The practical part of the course can be improved by giving students more practical exams than theory exams.

The college is national, so you can go, but semesters are tough, though clubs here are very good.

Placements: This year, 150 were placed from some 15-20. The highest package is 1.2 Cr, and the lowest is not sure. As the course is new, the coming future is dependent on this. So, you can definitely pursue this as it will help you in the future, and you will be able to beat the coming AI, as this is needed.

Infrastructure: Facilities are good, but Wi-Fi is not there, and the network is weak. Full protection is provided. There are good sports facilities, and the best part is that you have much time during vacations, so you can focus on your skills. However, there is a lot of pressure for the exams, and the marking is also tough.

Faculty: Not really. They are knowledgeable but not helping that much. Obviously, you have to build your own skills. The semester exams are really tough. The clubs and all help us to understand, but we only have to get ready for the industry on our own here. The pass percentage here is very much dependent on the relative grading.

College is good if we are talking in terms of placements.

Placements: Placements for our branch are slightly average in India because very few companies are aware of it, and there are limited smart manufacturing companies in India in 2024. However, the future prospects for this branch are very promising and secure; you will not be disappointed after completing this course. This course is essentially a blend of mechanical, electrical electronics, and computer science aspects. Only a few core companies visited our campus, and most of our seniors secured IT jobs as software developers. This year, a student from our branch secured a position in the smart factory of Hyundai Motors, and a detailed video is available on the IIITians Vines YouTube channel. The highest package offered off-campus is 1.2 crores, while the lowest is 6 LPA. Top roles offered include Software Development Engineer (SDE), Business Analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: No doubt, the campus looks great because it is newly established. Full of greenery, LAN cables or LAN ports are available in all rooms and labs for internet connectivity. Classrooms are well-furnished and equipped with a centrally air-conditioned system, projectors, and comfortable seats. For medical facilities, we have a campus hospital where doctors are available at their scheduled times for free checkups and medicine.

Faculty: Faculty is quite helpful; they possess great knowledge in their fields, especially when we talk about the smart manufacturing branch. Teachers from the mechanical department mostly instruct us, supplemented by some guest faculty for IT-related courses. Semester exams are relatively easy to pass, and there is also a grading system in place in the college.

Other: To improve this course, first, they have to design a new syllabus. They are currently following the syllabus of the mechanical branch. Fests do not happen very often due to connectivity issues and the college's funding limitations. The cultural fest is named TARANG. You can watch the YouTube video.

Review of Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing.

Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in the CSE branch with a salary package of 27 LPA. Almost 90% of students got placed in the ECE branch with a salary package of 25 LPA. Almost 80% of students got placed in the ME branch with a salary package of 12 LPA. The highest salary package offered for the ECE is 13 LPA.

Infrastructure: Our college provides 6 hostels for girls. Our college has 6 hostels which include Saraswati, Nagarjuna, Pannani, Vasistha, Vivekananda, and Aryabhatta. M.Tech students have to stay in the Nagarjuna hostel from 2022-2026. We have shifted to the Vasistha hostel in our 2nd year. Our college provides a Vivekananda hostel for 2nd-year hostel and Aryabhatta for 3rd-year students. PHC is available for medical purposes. Our college is Wi-Fi enabled. Our college provides us with all facilities like a hostel facility, lab, etc. The hostel is good. The food served in the mess is good.

Faculty: All professors are highly experienced. They ask questions to students. We should not misbehave with them. Our college has a relative marking system. If you score zero also, you can pass the semester exam.

Other: Our batch has 75 students, which include 55 girls, and 15 boys. I opted for this course because we can either go into the IT sector or the mechanical sector. It is a good college. Events are held in our college. Around 2-3 events are held every month. Our college has high coding culture. There will be a competition between students. Our college has 26 clubs.

Review of IIIT Jabalpur - Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing.

Placements: In this college, out of 10, only one student get internships at BMW recently from this college. One is placed in Vignan University by campus placements. One get an IT job off-campus with a reasonably good salary. Students are getting off-campus jobs are the possibilities as of now. I wish all the best for all the upcoming batches.

Infrastructure: There are 3 hostels, hall of residence 1,3,4, hall of residence i.e 1 seater, hall of residence 3,4 i.e 3 seaters. The rooms are spacious with a single separate bed for each student, along with a cupboard for all the personal items. All the hostels have a canteen with service till the late mid-night. As it's a government college, there are no timing restrictions, and the food is good. It provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections of mess on different floors. The food is good not like home. Instead of that if students do not want to eat something on a particular day then mess have a different section where they are making addons which they can purchase and eat. The addons are good and cheap also.

Faculty: At the new place, students try themselves to get acquainted with the college very well, and at the first sight, everyone thinks that there would be no academic load in starting so students can enjoy as much as they want. But this causes a sudden breakdown when students see 132 marks on these tests. But this is normal and once students try to learn it would be easy to score marks.

Other: Annual fests at IIIT Jabalpur are a complete fun package for all. IIIT Jabalpur has 3 annual fests. Cultural fest like transports fest, gustotech fest, abhikalpan. I worked and volunteered in tarang and abhikalpan. They helped me a lot to learn and improve. The most important thing is that irrespective of seniority the task, and responsibilities are distributed I worked with 3rd year seniors and at times I was given tasks to my own seniors due to which all the tests are at the next level. The students here work hard enough to improve the fests. Some major highlights abhikalpan organized designing and rendering workshop by world famous automobile renderer sang want seok i.e from South Korea, Tarang was central India's the largest cultural fest abhikalpan is India's first techno design fest. In tarang 18 artists like julia bliss, aakash mehta, and famous rock band The Sting performed. In Abhikalpan KTM organized two bike stunt riding show i.e it is much better than what is organised in techkriti tech fest of IIT Kanpur. In Abhikalpan army band organized a live music show which made the environment cheerful and made everyone happy. In Gusto, many teams participated in different sports and games such as cricket, football, tennis, etc. These fests are an ability to learn a lot. Being a first-year student I handled a unit of marketing and sponsorship team all alone. I learned how to approach a firm. I myself contacted many big firms like Zebronics, Spykar, Domino's, etc. Sometimes students used to work till 4 in the morning and almost every next day party is fixed. Sometimes the party is in the city or sometimes our hostel and canteen are more than Barbeque Nation. All the students worked a lot and made these 3 fests the memorable days of the session, hope students again have a blast in and further the campus is good.
