B.Tech. in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering - Batch of 2028

I am satisfied with the college as the campus life is fantastic. Placements are decent.
Placements: 84% students of students got placed last year in our senior batch and placements are going on for this batch. Placements were very good in our branch compared to last year. The lowest package offered is 6 LPA, and the average package offered is 12.71 LPA. The highest package offered is 30.5 LPA in materials and metallurgical branch.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available, but it provides high-speed internet through LAN. Facilities are good. Every day, cleaning is done in the hostel and the campus area. Classrooms do not have AC, but they are quite good. The auditorium is the best. The mess food is good, but it depends on students, as there is a student cooperative mess, so students can change according to them. Medical facilities are very good as they have 2 ambulances and strong connections with the hospital nearby. We have a whole sports complex, which is very good. Gym trainers are also available here.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive, and exams contain only those things that professors teach in class. They also help with internships and placements. They teach what they ask in exams, and it is told by our seniors that attending classes is enough for us to score very good grades.
Other: The campus area is quite large. The location of the college is in the middle of India. Fests organised are very good.

Good placements, amazing fests, okay faculty, and a green and big campus, but all jungle.
Placements: This year's placement is good with an average package of 12 LPA, and the highest is 30 LPA. Branch is neither fine nor that hard, nor simple, and you will get a good amount of time if you want to learn something else. Most of the big tech companies do not allow my branch students to sit in the placement.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. You will find all the necessary machines in the department. Hostels are also good, but are well-equipped with LAN. The only problem for hostels is connectivity issues for your mobile network on ground floors, but for top floors, it is not an issue.
Faculty: The faculty is good, all with great knowledge, but maybe you will not understand what they teach. So, you need to study on your own and not be dependent on teachers. Mostly, exams are conducted, there are a lot of practical exams and viva, but that's what engineering is.
Other: Events and fests in college are amazing. The only problem is that there are a few restrictions for first-year boys.

The highest package offered till now is 82 LPA.
Placements: Good placements are offered here, overall, a maximum package of 36 LPA and an average of 8.89 LPA is offered from the MME branch. The highest package offered till now is 82 LPA. In terms of placement MANIT is so good, in the MME branch, almost 85% of students get placed every year, which is significantly higher than other branches.
Infrastructure: Some hostels are old, but you get the best hostel in the 3rd and 4th year. According to your CG, single seater rooms are also provided, in the 2024-2025 batch 1st year students allotted with hostel 10C, D which are one of the best hostels in MANIT. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus. In some areas of the college, the network is not good, but you'll get Wi-Fi access, the quality of mess is not so bad, you'll get sufficient and good food for what you pay. Every hostel has its mess and its own mess committee, so you can decide what you want to eat.
Faculty: It is obvious that teachers are well-qualified, some of them are in the top 2% of scientists, and every professor is well-qualified, so you can trust your professor. They are quite helpful, if you ask, they'll give you a suggestion. I got help from professors, they are helpful, they guide you as a senior because many professors are alumni of MANIT.
Other: Societies/clubs are active and there is a club for every single thing, whether it is a Hindi club, technical, robotics, dance, singing, photography (pixel), and everything you want, you get. NCC is also a part of our college, I'm a NCC cadet.

Overall, a great experience with good opportunities, culture, infrastructure, and college life.
Placements: Placements in MANIT Bhopal for Materials and Metallurgical Engineering are good. Almost 85% of students from the 2024 batch are placed, you can check this on the official MANIT Bhopal website. The highest package is 30.5 LPA, and the average is 12.71 LPA. Companies like JSW, Tata, and Vedanta also participate in recruitment. Talking about internships, they usually depend on students’ efforts to secure them. But, the college also provides industrial training in the 3rd semester, which is the 2nd year. For my branch, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, students can also pursue careers in research and PSUs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at MANIT Bhopal is great. The department buildings are huge and provide all facilities needed for a comfortable learning experience. There are no network issues in hostels, and if any occur, they are fixed within a short time. The library is excellent, and the overall studying facilities are very good. Talking about hostels and mess, both are good. I wouldn’t say excellent, but they are suitable for a student living away from home, and facilities provided are quite decent. The mess food is also eatable. There is a large dispensary and a huge sports complex that includes all major sports, along with four AC electric buses on campus.
Faculty: The teaching experience is overall good. Faculty members are experienced, but some teachers may not resonate well with students. The curriculum is almost the same as in other NITs, and the Indian curriculum till date is not well-equipped to make a student fully industry-ready. For this, it depends on the student to upskill themselves. The semester exams are not very difficult, similar to what happens in most colleges. But, students need to study well to achieve good grades. The key is for students to remain attentive and focused.
Other: Chose any course if you genuinely want to pursue it, don’t focus only on placements. If you are skillful enough, you will get placed. And if you don’t know what course to pick, it’s okay, chose whatever you get and explore yourself in college. Fests, events, and college life are all good. You gain a lot of experiences and knowledge throughout your college journey. But remember, there are negative aspects too, as in every college a little bit of ragging culture, addictive substances, and such. This is the overall experience at MANIT Bhopal.

Department of Material Science at MANIT and its life.
Placements: In the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, around 80-90% of students get placed, and the rest of the students go for Master's or work on their own startups. The highest, lowest, and average packages are around 60 LPA, 8-10 LPA, and 15 LPA, respectively. The recruiting companies vary from time to time; some of them are Vedanta, JSW, and other core companies. Many students also get internships based on their interests. The roles offered by such companies are not specified; it depends on whether the students are going for technical or non-technical roles.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided here at MANIT are overall good. The department is well-maintained, with lush green surroundings and facilities such as Wi-Fi, digital classrooms, and a central and digital library. Talking about the hostels, the quality of food provided varies with each hostel, but it is overall good. Medical and emergency ambulance facilities for students are also available. There is a central sports complex that includes a Table Tennis Hall, Badminton Courts, Volleyball and Football Grounds, Basketball Courts, etc.
Faculty: The teachers here at MANIT are really supportive and motivating. They will assist students in a better way, but particularly for their branch-specific students. The curriculum is the same as other NITs and IITs and the overall exams will not be that difficult, but some of the particular subjects with difficult course content will have exam-related issues.
Other: The life here at MANIT is really good. You'll enjoy this campus surely if you're someone who wants to do more things with your studies. There will be a cultural fest organized every year named Maffick, which is Central India's largest fest, a technical event called Technosearch, and an E-Summit. You'll enjoy the vibes, environment, and campus—everything about the college. Sometimes the curriculum may feel hectic, but the surroundings around the college can make you feel better because of its really good connectivity with the city.

Placements are good, but the campus life is not that good.
Placements: In my branch, 85% of students are placed. So, overall placements are good. The placements for other branches are also good, but for the CSE and ECE students, the placements are excellent, averaging approximately 18 LPA for CSE and above 15 LPA for ECE students.
Infrastructure: The old hostels are in very bad condition, and are allotted to 2nd and 3rd-year students. The hostel facilities for girl students are very good, but for boys, if the hostels are good, then the mess food is not. After paying so much for the mess fee, they do not provide nutritious food for the boys.
Faculty: Professors are not that knowledgeable related to the course. They just pretend to have knowledge of the course, and the HOD does the things which he has in his mind. They do nothing to increase the skills of the students. So, the students of our branch have to study coding and prepare for tech jobs.

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology - My College Best Campus Life.
Placements: My college batch is 1203. Around 250 Computer Science students, about 200 Electronics and Communication, and 200 Electrical Engineering students. 150 Mechanical Engineering, 100 Civil Engineering, and 80 Material Science and Metallurgy students. The highest package is 82 LPA, and the lowest is 18 LPA for CSE.
Infrastructure: My department has a nice infrastructure. All the things and equipment are available there, and it contains Wi-Fi connections also in the whole campus of 650 acres of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology. There are many canteens, a library, stationery, a lake, and a sports complex.
Faculty: The teaching quality of the professors is awesome. They teach in an interactive manner. There are 3 exams held in 1 semester: mini test, mid-semester, and end-semester. The mini-test consists of 10 marks. The mid-semester consists of 20 marks, and the end-semester consists of 40 marks. 10 marks for attendance and 20 marks for assignments.

Excellent placements, good college life, decent professors, great sports, and mess facilities.
Placements: On-campus placements are excellent in MANIT Bhopal, with major companies from both tech and core fields visiting here, which include SAIL, JSW, BHEL, TATA Steel, Juspay, and Indian Oil, offering handsome salary packages. Having an 88% placement rate, many students also get internships. As per the 2023-24 placement brochure, the average package of MME stood at 9.73 LPA, while the highest package is 24 LPA and the median package is 9.25 LPA. The top roles include software developers, management trainees in top PSUs, and scientists in government institutions like BIS.
Infrastructure: MANIT has a Wi-Fi campus and the hostels are equipped with LAN ports for internet access. Classrooms don't have ACs; they have fans, projectors, and whiteboards for teaching. The library is open from Sunday to Friday until 9 PM on normal days and is closed on Sundays. During exams, they are open until 12 midnight. The library has sufficient books to clear exams. Our college has a dispensary and excellent ambulance facilities. The sports complex of MANIT is huge, with all the necessary facilities to play cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and gym, etc. The mess is good and there are washing machines in the hostels.
Faculty: The faculty in MANIT are well qualified, having studied at IITs and other top colleges, but some are strict about attendance. Frequent industrial visits, workshops, and seminars are organized by the college to provide industrial exposure. The institution exams are easy to pass, and you just need to study with a little sincerity; even studying a week before exams is sufficient. Most of the students pass.
Other: My Department, MME, has a strength of 78 students and 9 professors teaching material science and metallurgy. This course is more research-oriented and in demand in foreign countries after M.Tech or MS, but sadly not in India. Our college hosts Central India's largest technical fest, Technsearch, to empower entrepreneurship, along with the E-summit and techno-cultural Maffick. The campus is quite lovely, as like-minded people come together to learn, innovate, and develop. Our college has one of the best sports teams in inter-NITs. It is connected by railway via Rani Kamlapati and Bhopal Junction (8 KM), while Raja Bhoj Airport is 15 KM away.

First of all, MSME is lowest branch. So, you need a good CGPA in first year for branch upgradation (about 9 CGPA). So, you need to focus from first day.
