IIST MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) offers MTech courses at the postgraduate level, which last for two years. MTech programme is offered across 14 specialisations, including Thermal & Propulsion, Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics, Structures & Design, etc. The programme is offered in both regular and sponsored mode. Other than the regular degree, IIST also offers a dual degree in BTech + MTech. The dual degree is spread across 10 semesters and lasts for five years. IIST accepts exams like GATE and JEST for admission to its MTech course. Further, MTech admission is based on the 'Admission List' which is prepared on the rank list, an available number of vacancies, and preferences given by the candidate. Selection for the rank list is done based on the valid score of the national exams followed by an online interview. Interested candidates can check below the IIST eligibility criteria for MTech:
Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree with 60% aggregate for General / EWS & OBC category and 55% for SC/ST & PwD category.

IIST MTech Admission Dates 2025
Candidates seeking admission in the MTech programme at the IIST-Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology must appear for the GATE and JEST exams conducted by the IITs and secure minimum marks as per the institute's cutoff mark for admission. IIST MTech Admission 2025: How to Apply?
The application process for MTech programme at the IIST-Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is completely online. Candidates must read the 'PG Notification Regular' brochure carefully before applying to the MTech course. Candidate must first qualify for the MTech eligibility criteria as per the Institute's admission guidelines. Once candidates are qualified, they can follow the below-given steps to complete the online application form fill up process for the MTech programme:
Step 1: Visit the official website of IIST
Step 2: Now visit the online application portal (http://admission.iist.ac.in) and choose the link to 'Undergraduate Admission'.
Step 3: Register by filling in the required details. Once successfully registered, candidates will be provided with a system-generated IIST Registration Number.
Step 4: Pay the application/ registration fee online with the help of the registration number.
Step 5: Submit the form and take a printout
Step 6: Do carry the hard copy of the application form at the time of PI and entrance exam

- Class 10 certificate if the date of birth is mentioned in it or birth certificate.
- Class 12 (or equivalent examination) mark sheets
- Bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheet
- GATE scorecard
- Medical certificate
- Category (EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PD) certificates.
- Transfer Certificate from the institute last attended.
- Candidate’s AADHAR Card.
