Our college is good for students who have an interest in space science.
Placements: The highest salary package offered in the avionics course in 2024 is 23 LPA. The highest salary package offered in the aerospace course is 13 LPA. The average salary package offered in the avionics course is 13 LPA. The average salary package offered in the aerospace course is around 6 LPA - 8 LPA. I don't know much about engineering and physics. I don't think it has much scope from here. If students are coming here, come only for knowledge, not to seek jobs.
Infrastructure: If students want to work in labs, this place is a heaven. Hostels aren't top-notch but they are better than NITs. Wi-Fi has restrictions for games and some websites like other institutes. The mess is not good. It does not provide good food like other colleges.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful. If students are enthusiastic about knowledge, this is the best institution. The curriculum is very difficult. Exams are difficult. Most of the work is lab-based so students can get industry-ready. The only bad thing here is the attendance. The attendance percentage is 80%.

A hidden gem of a college (better than new IITs).
Placements: The placements are mostly directly to ISRO, all students with a CGPA above 7.5 are placed in ISRO, other companies include space startups such as agnikool, SkyRoot, etc. Approximately 80–90% of students get placed, while many choose to go for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Excellent course infrastructure; the library is very huge with a large collection of books; 24hr 5G Wi-Fi for students; quality of food is average, but there are various food joints nearby, so that is not a big issue. Sports facilities are also good and improving every day, as now the B.Tech students will have credit for sports too.
Faculty: Every teacher is highly qualified, and we have a very good student-to-teacher ratio of 9:1. Every teacher can connect with you at a personal level; keeping less student intake is, I think, a pro for IIST. The course curriculum is relevant, and we are also taught some space-specific stuff. The freshmen now also have the option of various minors.
Other: I wanted to learn robotics and ML from the age of 14, so I took this course. The college is lovely and above many new IITs in the studies and research aspects. I think the facilities are not at that level, but considering that the strength is approximately 1000 students. Overall, it is pretty good.

Everyday starts with excitement and ends with new learnings.
Placements: Just the previous year, I started my college journey. Undoubtedly, the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology offers huge placement opportunities. For instance, in 2023, they had a 97% placement rate. Top companies like TCS, Siemens, and Persistent hire our college students.
Infrastructure: Basically, it’s a superb environment with all the necessities. Through various extracurricular activities, they pave the way for our development. Because of them, we are able to showcase our skills like leadership, passion, and empathy. This environment makes us feel our social responsibilities.
Faculty: Personally, I'm okay with all the lectures. I admire and am amazed by their work. However, they are very strict about our dress code. They play a major role in making us responsible individuals. Finally, coming to exams, it’s quite easy to pass.

It is a very good beginning for a new life.
Placements: There will be no partiality among students during placements. Everyone asked to attend the same coaching for placements. Depending on our performance, students got placed at various companies in our campus drives. Our alumni got placed in companies like Oracle, KPIT, Reliance, and EY.
Infrastructure: Our college has a very good environment. In our library, we have 5-6 copies of books for an individual book.
Faculty: I was very worried about my academics but later all such frustrations faded away from me. All these things were possible because of my teachers. Our teachers worked with us during research. They strictly banned ragging in our institution.
Other: While organising, cultural events we easily collaborate with our juniors and seniors for the smooth happening of such events. We perform and organise events together happily.

Satisfied with academics, sports and extracurricular activities.
Placements: In recent years, the majority of students were placed at ISRO but now the 2025 batch does not have a bond with ISRO and we are not sure of the number of companies that would come for placements from our campus. The advantage is that we do not have to submit a paper with ISRO conduct to get a job there.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi's are sometimes unstable but yes, they are efficient. You do not get Wi-Fi or any Internet in your classrooms, of course. There's a 5-story library and more than 35,000+ books there, mostly related to space and the course. There's not much in the literature section. The food is hygienic but not tasty enough but yes, you won't get sick. Sports are evolving there.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are knowledgeable and experienced; mostly, they are IITians teaching there. Some of the teachers are helpful. The semester is a little difficult but yes, it requires a daily 5 hours of studying to get 8 points. Pass percentage is, I guess, around 70%.
Other: This college is basically for people who love studying. This campus is not yet ready for any extracurricular activities. I mean, there are sports and fests, but they are not that good.

Many opportunities for working in ongoing projects and research work like in Space lab, Rf lab.
Placements: Till now, most students who were placed in ISRO had a CGPA above 7.5. From 2021 onwards, ISRO's bond has been suspended, so it is expected that other recruiters will visit the campus. For ISRO recruitment, students don't need to write ICRB like students from other colleges, but they do need to pass an interview.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is new, and the labs are well maintained, with some labs having advanced equipment. The entire campus has excellent Wi-Fi connectivity, and there is a large, air-conditioned library building with many books for coursework and extracurricular reading. The mess food is not particularly tasty but is very healthy. There is a 24-hour medical facility on campus, and excellent sports and games facilities are available, including cricket, basketball, football, badminton, pool, table tennis, chess, and carrom.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio at this college is good. Most of the teachers were very helpful. The academic curriculum was really hectic, as the focus was more on studies and research than other activities. The syllabus was based on the requirements of ISRO and space companies. Grading was relative and depended on the faculty.

Really good academics, not so good extra curricular and more about my experience in IIST.
Placements: In this college till my batch, you would get directly absorbed by ISRO if your CGPA is above 7.5 on a scale of 10. But other than that the placement situation is not as good as some IITs. From the Next batch onwards there is no direct absorption in ISRO so our placement cell is trying to get better placement for the students. Top companies include Accenture and TCS. There are also some renowned start-ups like AgniKul which is operated by IIST alumni and you can get a package of around 8-10 LPA there. The highest package is around 14 LPA from our placement cell while the lowest is around 2 LPA. The average package is around 5-6 LPA. Now there is a mandatory summer internship between the 6th and 7th semester. Students go to various ISRO centres or do their internship in the campus or any companies outside. You can also do other internships in various companies, though that can put a lot of pressure on your academics. So it's up to you.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are good and can accommodate a large number of students. The labs are very well maintained. There is 24-hour Wi-Fi inside the campus. The library is excellent, almost all the books are available. The hostels are clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms are cleaned every day so no worries about that. You can access the medical facility whenever you want. The mess/canteen food is really good and clean and most of them are tasty. Now the infrastructure for sports and games is not as good as some of the other colleges but you can certainly play sports if you are interested.
Faculty: The faculty members are very well qualified and really helpful. You just have to approach them. The exams are neither easy nor very difficult, you have to put some effort to do well. You can pass easily and very few students fails the exams. The course is very relevant, but I wish there was more specializations in the B.Teach course.

The college was offering the best quality placements and faculty in our course.
Placements: Our college offers multiple placements to its students. Around 50–60% of the students get placed in our course at this college. The average package offered here at this college was between 4 and 7 LPAs. Top recruiters in the college were Infosys, Teach Mahindra, Wipro, Philips, etc.
Infrastructure: The college was providing the best-quality facilities to the students. The infrastructure available for our course was good. The entire college campus had Wi-Fi facilities for students and teachers. Labs were available for the students with all the required equipment. The library, canteen, hostel, sports, and all other necessary facilities were available for the students.
Faculty: Teachers at IIST for our course were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers were offering the best quality teaching to the students. The course curriculum of this college is relevant and makes us industry-ready. Semester exams at our college were not hard to pass.

Yes, your son can easily appear for ongoing JoSAA 2026 counselling and the choice-filling process. However, to get a seat on IIT, your son must score 75% aggregate in the 12th CBSE for the general category, and for SC/ST/PwD, the score must be 65%.

No, you must have to take JEEADV, and if I am not wrong, you should score minimum 20% marks in JEEADV to get shortlisted for selection. Though with that percentage, it may not be possible for you to get a seat. You should go through the admission guidelines of IIST for clarification.
