The course outline of mechanical in IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay is similar and is quite well aligned with the course structure of top ranked international universities and the mechanical is one of the most desired and demanded branches in the IITs. It is voluntary to opt for the hostel facility at IIT Delhi. In fact, if a candidate lives within a 15 km radius of the campus, they won't be allotted a hostel room at all. However, the institute houses 11 boys' hostels and two girls' hostels which is enough to accommodate the willing candidates. The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is 118 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Delhi - Indian Institute of Technology.
