Q:   Can I get IGDTUW, B.Tech with 88% in JEE Main?
A:

General, OBC, SC, ST, or PwD categories have different cutoff ranks for admission.

In any case, with a 88% score in JEE Fundamental, you have areas of strength for an of getting into IGDTUW for a few B.Tech programs.

A 88% score in JEE Principal ordinarily means a percentile somewhere in the range of 95 and 98, which is an extremely serious score.

If you belong to OBC,  SC,  ST,  or PwD categories,  the cutoff ranks for you will be significantly lower,  further increasing your chances of admission.

If you want placement then definitely go for it.
Placements: Above 75% of students got placed. 56 LPA is the highest package, and 20 LPA is the average package. Last year mechanical branch got the highest package so it totally depends on your skills and not on your branch for placements. Top roles offered are DSA, web developer, AI ML, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is like average because only few classes have AC in them. The campus is very small. Hostel is not good at all. Lab classes have AC but others are non-AC. But in 2025 IT block will have AC in all the rooms in which the classes for CS, AI, IT, and AIML take place.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly educated but don't know how to teach. They just want their salary and nothing else. The course curriculum is mostly relevant as it adds very much coding subjects. Its not difficult to secure good CGPA in college but you have to put extra effort, if you are in the branches like ECE or MAE types.

Great placement opportunities.
Placements: Almost more than 85% students got placed in B.Tech in Information Technology. The highest package received in my branch was 52 LPA, average package offered was 20 LPA, and the lowest was 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft and Google. Last year, 10 students got placed from CSE and CSEAI at Apple. Most of the students get an internship in the 3rd year in top companies. The top roles offered were those of Software Engineer and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average. You don't need to walk a lot to get to your classes like other colleges. Facilities are not up to expectations. You don't have a proper seating arrangement to have your food in the canteen. We do have Nescafé where you can enjoy yourself. The campus is shared by the students of Dr B. R. Ambedkar. The sports societies are active. Most of the computers don't work in the labs, and the library gets crowded most of the time.
Faculty: The teachers are really qualified and always ready to help. The college has a strong research background that needs recognition. The curriculum of the first year is mostly the same for all and becomes relevant according to each branch from the 2nd year. It's quite easy to score a good CGPA if you work for it.
Other: I chose Information Technology because I was always drawn to the field of AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. I wish we could be provided with more practical knowledge. You get to meet great people to connect with. The campus surroundings aren't very safe, but it's just a 10-minute walk from the metro station. The college organizes great fests like Taarangana, inviting great artists.

Masters of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2026

Good college for science stream. Not so much for management course.
Placements: Most jobs offered are in sales, marketing, and HR, and very few are in finance. From what I know, only three students out of a batch of 75 got placed in a Big 4 company. The lowest package is around 3 LPA, the median is 4-5 LPA, and the highest package I’ve seen in my senior batch is 9-10 LPA. Internships are not good at all.
Infrastructure: Labs are not accessible to MBA students. Classrooms are good and air-conditioned. The library is very average. The hostel is also average. Mess food is not great but edible. There are no proper medical facilities. The canteen is basically a small shop with decent food for the price. Sports and games clubs are available, and I’ve seen students practicing on campus.
Faculty: Out of 8 teachers, I found around 3 genuinely knowledgeable in their subjects. While the course curriculum is relevant, some subjects are not taught properly. I don’t feel industry-ready. The pass percentage is around 40-45%. Mid-term exams are easier compared to end-term exams. The papers are challenging but good.
Other: I chose this course hoping for industry exposure. They did incorporate a few webinars and seminars for the same, but nothing else. I wish we had more practical knowledge-based components in the curriculum, like industry visits or innovative projects. For most subjects, you have to study on your own. There have been no fests in the past 5 months. Scholarships are available. Extracurricular activities are present at the university level if one wishes to participate.

Good exposure and opportunities, a supportive environment, and improving placements.
Placements: I belong to the CSE AI batch, and placements in our course are quite good. A high percentage of students get placed every year, with many securing software development roles. The highest packages exceed the average industry standards, while the lowest and average packages are also decent. Almost all top tech companies, including FAANG and other reputed recruiters, visit the campus. A large number of students also secure internships in these companies, which often convert into full-time offers. The top roles offered are mainly software development engineer (SDE), along with a few opportunities in research, product, and data-related fields.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of IGDTUW is average. Wi-Fi is available across the campus but not always reliable. Labs are equipped for basic requirements, though some equipment is outdated. Classrooms are spacious with projectors. The library is useful with good resources. Hostel facilities are manageable, with rooms of decent size and average cleanliness. The mess food is also average, sometimes good, sometimes just okay, with better options available in the canteen. Medical facilities are basic. Sports grounds and courts are present, though student participation and encouragement could be improved.
Faculty: Teachers at IGDTUW are generally helpful, qualified, and supportive. Most of them have good subject knowledge and guide students well, though the teaching quality varies from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum is relevant and keeps updating with industry needs, but still requires extra effort through internships and projects to become fully industry-ready. Semester exams are not very difficult if you attend classes and study regularly. The overall pass percentage remains high, with most students clearing their exams without much trouble.
Other: I chose this course mainly because of the good placement opportunities. The best part is the strong technical foundation, exposure through hackathons, projects, and various events that boost confidence. However, more practical industry-level training and stronger company connections would make it better. The campus has fests, cultural and technical events, and a supportive crowd. Being in Delhi, connectivity is good, and the surroundings are safe. Scholarships and extracurricular activities are available but need more encouragement. Overall, facilities and infrastructure are average, but exposure and placement opportunities make this course worth choosing.

Strong placement and supportive faculty, but infrastructure needs improvement.
Placements: About 90% of the students from my course get successfully placed every year, with top recruiters like Microsoft and Google. The highest package offered is around 50 LPA, while the lowest range between 4 LPA - 5 LPA, and the average package is approximately 20 LPA. Almost all third-year students are able to secure internships, reflecting the strong industry connections of the course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the institute is below average when compared to the top government colleges in India. The library often remains overcrowded, making it difficult for students to study comfortably. Classrooms are not fully centralized. In addition, Wi-Fi connectivity is restricted to only a few specific labs, limiting accessibility across the campus. The quality of hostel food also falls short of expectations and requires significant improvement.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They provide you with notes and assignments to help you with the course. As an IT student, I find the curriculum to be largely relevant, covering important coding and technical subjects that match industry requirements. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, making it fairly easy for students to score well. With many achieving a CGPA of 9 or above.
Other: I chose IT as my course because of my strong interest in technology, problem-solving skills, and coding. While the curriculum is relevant and placement opportunities are strong. There is still room for improvement in areas such as infrastructure, classroom facilities, hostel food quality, and campus-wide internet connectivity. College also encourages cultural and extracurricular engagement. Tarangana being one of the most vibrant and well-organized fests. Additionally, scholarships are available for students from EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder talented students from pursuing their education.

A college that offers you the best placements, exclusive support from seniors, and exposure.
Placements: Placements are top-notch like they can even stand at par with top colleges of the country. This year, around 36 students got into Microsoft alone with a maximum package of 52 LPA. Last year, the highest placement offer was 1 CPA. The highest international offer was 82,000 pounds.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is something I'll suggest you do not even think about connecting to it, it's the worst. The infrastructure is not that good. Since the campus is pretty old, they define it as a heritage campus. The hostel food is very bad. I lost around 4 kgs in 1 week like I didn't have any appetite. Sports are not that much promoted. Medical facilities are there. A canteen is there. It has decent food.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful and qualified. Most of them are knowledgeable but very few know how to teach properly. The course is pretty new and up-to-date. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not that difficult. In each subject, you need a minimum of 45 out of 100 to pass.
