B.E. in Construction Engineering (Day) - Batch of 2029
4.8
Absolutely satisfied with the placement. Really good infrastructure.
Placements: Placements are very fantastic in this course. If you study well for 4 years you are expected to have multiple job offers with a handsome salary. Roles offered in this course are project manager and site manager. Top recruiting companies are Larsen and Toubro and Ambuja Cement.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is always available on the campus. Labs are also well-maintained by the government. Classrooms are too good with smart classrooms. Hostels are also good with mess facilities having non-vegetarian meals daily. Medical facilities are good. We have an annual sports event U-Turn where you can play every sport you can think of.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They would help you in cracking the GATE exam if you ask them to teach for the GATE exam. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the student industry-ready. Semester exams are too easy. Pass percentage would be around 95 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I have a dream of being an IES officer in civil engineering. The best thing about this course is that you get a lot of time to prepare for the competitive examination. We have a 10-day annual fest with multiple bands performing on stage.

B.A. in History - Batch of 2025
4.4
Academically enriching with excellent research culture and strong faculty reputation.
Placements: 30% of students got placed. 95% of students got internships in museums, archaeology, art, etc., which is very good and competitive for higher studies and co-curricular activities. Content writers, research writers, Ph.D. scholars, academic researchers, civil and government services, political analysts, heritage and cultural management roles, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is there. B.A. courses do not need any labs. Classrooms are good and airy. The campus is huge, so you will remember it and will miss it afterward. The cheapest hostel is probably in the whole world. Food is healthy and clean. There are 3-4 canteens within the campus. Sports like cricket and football, all facilities and pitches are there. Opposite KPC, there is a hospital for medical facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, very qualified, and knowledgeable. In fact, top lecturers, top writers, and professors like Ranabir Chakraborty and others often take classes. Teaching quality is fantastic. Yes, 90% of people pass, but exams are not too difficult if you understand the classes.
Other: I wanted to be a teacher, so I did this course. The knowledge, the network, and campus life. SANSKRITI is the best fest in East India. JUMUN is the best MUN in the East India Circuit. RUHANIYAT and NATYASHASTRA. The campus crowd is huge; in fact, people from different states come here to watch fests, and artists from all over India perform. Bus, metro, and train services are all available. The campus has lots of cheap restaurants, printing shops, and others. Scholarships are available. It’s a whole-round hub of extracurricular activities. Trust me, in whichever field you want to excel, this is a talent hub.

The Metallurgy side of Jadavpur University.
Placements: Jadavpur University have a high reputation for placing students and the campus is one of the most prolific and highly respected colleges around. Most of the students got placed in SAIL, JSW, Tata Steel, etc. If the student is core placed in metallurgy then the average package is between 6 LPA and 12 LPA. The high packages are given to those who are going to a non-core placement. The internship programme is available for students every year.
Infrastructure: The buildings are a bit old but the renovation work is in progress. The Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The classroom temperature is a bit lower than the outside. The campus also provides a central library for all the department students. The hostel buildings are also very old and the same renovation is going on. The canteen food is good and easy to digest.
Faculty: All the teachers of the campus and especially my department are highly educated from top institutes of India and humanity can be expected from every one of them. The course curriculum is relevant and it gets updated every academic year according to world affairs. The semester exams are like a festival for me. I enjoy it very much. The pass percentage is above 85 percent.
Other: Try to maintain a decent distance from your super seniors who are going to leave the campus soon.

Actually, in the civil department, teachers are very less than other departments due to this reason students were not placed in a good company.

It is good for academics and research.
Placements: There are literally no placements for our department. The placement cell hasn't been in operation for two years. But there have been people who get great editorial internships in newspapers such as The Times of India solely on their own merit. We can also become interns under certain professors and get into academia/research.
Infrastructure: Classrooms do have air-conditioners, but they often fail to work. Washrooms are never clean. The science department doesn't have proper laboratory equipment. They are never updated. There is Wi-Fi, though it doesn't work for students. The library is the only great thing about the department. It has a huge collection of books and a good reading environment. There are a few canteens that are very affordable. The food might not always be that great. Medical facilities are there, but not always functional. The infrastructure for sports and games is exceptionally good. There's also a free gym for all students.
Faculty: Teachers are excellent, well-experienced, and qualified. Some of them are passouts from Cambridge. The course curriculum is the most radical in the entire country, and it prepares us for a research-based future. Semester exams are usually pretty hard, but we can score good grades if we study the course material. A lot of self-study is involved.
Other: I loved English literature as a subject, so I chose this course. I think the one thing that needs improvement is the feedback system in the university. We often do not receive feedback on our answer scripts after internal and end-semester examinations, which makes it difficult for students to improve. We have a great campus life. There is an annual fest called Sanskriti every year, and Arts, Science, and Engineering faculty members organise it. Scholarships are available based on need and sports quota. It conducts extracurricular activities like debate, dance, music, arts, etc.

Placements are very strong in engineering.
Placements: 92% students get placed in my course. The highest package offered ranges from 1.4-1.8 crores per annum. The lowest and average packages are also offered in my course. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc., are the top recruiting companies for my course. 90-95% of students from our course got internships in companies like Google, Microsoft, etc. The top roles offered in my course are software development engineer, graduate engineer trainee, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, 13 hostels, a library with over 6.4 lakh books, etc., are available in my course. Classrooms, libraries, and labs are old-fashioned. Most of them are alright. Some facilities are okay, like old-fashioned and not modern like other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely knowledgeable. Their way of teaching is best, according to me. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Exams are difficult. If we study and learn what teachers tell us, then they are alright. The pass percentage is 100%.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in it. I find my course fun to do and secure for my future. Placements are the best thing in my course. I wish the practical work could be better. Events, fests, etc., are always organised so we can enjoy and learn at the same time without being bored.

It's Jadavpur University.
Placements: The placement of this campus was so good that many students tried to get enrolled on this college by not choosing the IITs. The brand value of this campus was very high all over India. The average package varied between 8 LPA and 15 LPA. The highest package can go above 15 LPA if you try to go for non-core roles. Most roles offered were either production engineer or marketing engineer.
Infrastructure: Buildings of this campus were the backlogs of the overall campus. The buildings were old, and the benches were not very comfortable. The Wi-Fi was available at a decent speed and slow in some far places from the buildings. The library was a bit dusty. The hostel buildings were not so well furnished because they have become old.
Faculty: Faculty members here were highly knowledgeable people you've ever known. All teachers were research-active members. All faculty members' teaching quality was excellent. The course curriculum was the best in the state. Semester exams were very helpful and always interesting for all. The pass percentage was above 90%.
Other: The campus was the best in Kolkata, and you would have a better future here.
