Yes, candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must appear for the CUET-PG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). JNU MA Admission Dates 2024
Jawaharlal Nehru University MA admission season generally begins in the first week of March every year. The programme is offered under various specialisations via six schools for a duration of two years. JNU admission 2023 to the MA programme is based on a candidate's performance in CUET-PG, followed by a counselling round. In order to be eligible for the viva voice, a candidate must secure the following marks in the written examination:

Jawaharlal Nehru University accepts CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance test scores for admission to several undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and PG Diploma courses. The University also accepts a few national-level entrance exam scores for admission to courses such as BTech, MBA, etc. For admission to BA (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc Integrated programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency courses, JNU accepts CUET-UG scores.
- The registration window for CUET UG for Jawaharlal Nehru University admission UG courses usually open by February. Further, the CUET UG is held between May and June.
There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
Candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must have a BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates who have passed BSc/ BCom/ BA with Mathematics at Class 12 or at Graduation level with a minimum aggregate of 55%. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates also need to appear for the Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG entrance test.
No, candidates can get admission to JNU without CUET if applying for UG and PG courses. To get admission at Jawaharlal Nehru University, candidates must appear for th CUET exam. JNU admission to most of the UG, PG and Diploma courses are based on candidates' performance in the CUET-UG & CUET-PG scores. JNU MA Admission 2024: How to Apply?
JNU grants admissions to MA based on the JNUEE test. The step-wise JNUEE Application Process is explained below-

2- Read the instructions and select the agreement checkbox. Click on the submit button
3- Enter all the required details.
4- Choose the password and security question and enter the captcha
5- Fill out the application form.
6- Upload a digital image of the photograph and signature in JPEG format.

JNU CUET UG cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to various UG courses and specialisations. The cutoff was released for different categories such as General, OBC and SC categories belonging to the All India quota. The cutoff scores varied between 33.8 and 74.4, among the General AI category candidates. Among the OBC AI category candidates, the closing ranks varied between 29.16 and 69.64. The branch-wise cutoff ranks for the General AI category has been provided in the table below:
JNU cutoff 2025 is out for admission to MA, MSc, MTech and MCA based on CUET- PG. For the General AI category, in the first round, the cutoff ranged from 27.33 and 99.33. MA in Hindi was the toughest for this category, followed by MA in Hindi Translation and MA in Sanskrit. Please note that this data only applies to the General AI category quota, and other categories, rounds and specialisations will reflect different cutoffs. JNU MA cutoff 2024 is out for round three. The cutoff is between 83.33 and 85 for the General All-India category. As per the JNU CUET cutoff 2024, the most competitive MA course is MA in Economics (World Economy), with a Round 3 cutoff of 86.67 for the General AII India category students. In 2023, the cutoff for the same course was 67.66 for the General AII India category candidates. Hence, it can be concluded that the competition has increased for this course as compared to the previous year.
