JNU has not released its 2025 placements report as of now. The JNU School of Engineering placement report 2023 with the overall highest package offered was INR 33 LPA. The avearge package offered at JNU SOE placements 2023 was INR 16 LPA and INR 11 LPA.

Yes, the university offer two-year MA programme in multiple specialisations. Some of the specialisations in which the course is available are Sociology, Political Science, Economics, etc. The course carries a total of 64 credits. In addition, the course is divided into four semester and there are 16 credits each semester. Admission to this PG-level course is entrance-based.

Candidates with an MBBS degree or an MSc in Nursing or equivalent (with a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grades) and one-year experience in community health are eligible for this course. Admission is based on a CUET-PG followed by an interview. The candidates shortlisted further need to take part in the interview or viva round. Based on overall performance in the selection rounds, the seat allotment procedure is carried out.

The JNU offers only one MBA programme. There are 9 major and minor domain specialisations available under the course. Students can pursue an MBA with any domain. Students are required to meet the eligibility criteria of the course.

 

Yes, candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must appear for the CUET-PG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students are admitted on merit based on their performance in the entrance test and the deprivation points are added to their score in accordance with the approved admission Policy and Procedures of the University. The CUET PG 2023 exam will be held for postgraduate course admissions to over 50 Central and participating Universities.

No, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is not costly. It is widely recognised as one of the most affordable public universities in India. JNU total tuition fees is the highest for BTech course, ranging between 99.8 K - 5 L. The most economical courses are MSc, MA, MCA & MPH with tuition fee ranging between INR 432 - 480.

JNU has a good ranking under the "University" category - 2nd position in NIRF rankings 2025. However, the university has not received a lot of ranking under "Management" category. QS World University Rankings 2026 have been released. According to the same, IIT Kharagpur ranks at #558 under the category "World Universities". 

All students do not generally get hostel at JNU. Not all students get a hostel immediately upon admission, and local Delhi residents generally do not receive standard hostel accommodation. Students from outside Delhi get the first preference for available rooms. Students whose families reside in Delhi are classified under lower priority categories and rarely get regular rooms unless exceptional circumstances apply (such as parental transfers).

There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

JNU MCA admission is completely entrance-based and depends upon candidates' performance in the CUET-PG entrance exam. For JNU MCA admission, no viva voce examination is held by the university. Apart from the CUET-PG scores, candidates are also required to meet the basic eligibility criteria set by the University.
