KARE is a Deemed to be University, formerly Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering which was established in 1984. The university is located in Virudhunagar, TN, and was established under the trust ‘Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities’. Kalasalingam University offers ten specialisations in BSc courses, and the eligibility criteria for admission to these courses differ according to the BSc specialisation selected by the candidates. For admission to BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Forensic Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry candidates must complete Class 12 from the Science stream with relevant subjects are eligible to apply. Additionally, for Catering Science & Hotel Management and Visual Communication candidates must Pass Class 12 with a 50% aggregate, and for BSc in Agriculture and Horticulture, candidates must complete higher senior secondary with an aggregate of 50% and above in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology, Microbiology/Biochemistry/ Home Science. For lateral entry candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in a Diploma course in the relevant field of specialisation.
