B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2026
Offered by MEA Engineering College (MEA Kerala)
1.4
1Placements2Infrastructure2Faculty1Crowd & Campus Life1Value for Money
The college was good in earlier times, but now the management remains outdated.
Placements: I don’t know, only a few very academically talented students who try off-campus placements only end up getting placed. Others stroll around or go elsewhere. Some are doing courses, others are doing internships. None of them gets placed. Placement is very poor. The college doesn’t help you secure a job.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay, as the campus buildings are always clean and tidy. Although they claim free Wi-Fi throughout the campus. Only some locations in the main building have Wi-Fi. Hostel food is not good, has no taste, and lizards and cockroaches are found in the mess canteen food.
Faculty: Some teachers only read from PPT presentations, while others don’t even do that. They lag the whole semester, and once the exams are near, during the last few weeks, they make you do all assignments, seminars, and other work. Teachers working here are alumni who failed to secure jobs in the IT fields.
Other: There is no campus life here. You only come to study and go. It is very boring, to be honest.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by College of Engineering, Trivandrum
4.4
4Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Good infrastructure, facilities, and faculty members. Good placements as of 2024 and 2025.
Placements: I am from the 2025 batch, Mechanical Engineering. I have completed my first semester here. I have communicated with a lot of seniors. As I have talked to them, from the Mechanical Engineering branch, more than 50 percent of students get placed from every batch. And for other branches like CSE and ECE, there are a good amount of placements too. The highest package is 40 LPA for the college.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure, and all the lab facilities are available here. Course-related facilities are well provided. Most of the classrooms have Wi-Fi access. There is a central computation facility where there are a lot of computers, and it is accessible for all the students from 9 am–9:30 pm on all working days. Men’s hostel has good facilities including washing machines. Food is also provided for all the inmates.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and experienced. I would not say that about all the faculty members, but most of them are good. Sincerity is seen in most of the faculty members. The curriculum is a bit hard to catch up with but is manageable if you keep in touch with the academic side. There are two series exams, lab exams, and end semester exams. Series exams are a bit tough to make sure we have good knowledge of the subjects.
Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering because I have a good interest in machines and developments. It has a lot of practical work, and all such lab facilities are available here. I would like if the college had more technical facilities. Good events have been conducted at college at the time of fresher’s events. And I am still at my 2nd semester, and more is yet to come.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) - Batch of 2029
Offered by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering
4.2
4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
I would give a 4-star rating for Amal Jyothi College of Engineering.
Placements: So Cyber Security has been newly introduced in Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. I am a first-year cyber student, and the first batch of Cyber Security is currently in 2nd year. So no batch has graduated yet. Upon searching, I got to know that cyber comes under CS, so the company recruitments would be the same as those of other CS branches. Most of the students of CS are getting placed at Infosys, UST Global, Wipro, and Spyder. These companies would recruit Cyber students. Salary packages are seen to be around the lowest 2 LPA to the highest being 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: Here we have good infrastructure, Wi-Fi all around the campus as well as the hostel, a decent library, and labs for every branch. The hostel is actually strict, so good discipline is maintained. A variety of foods are available in the canteen, which is made here only. Mess food is also good; it is adjustable.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and approachable. Cybersecurity is a growing field, so there are many opportunities for students. As for semester exams, we are provided with a question bank, and about 70% of questions are based on it, with the remaining related to the syllabus.
Other: The college conducts superb events; every festival is celebrated. To point out, so many extracurricular activity is provided to students. Many clubs are here, so students can show off their talents and earn activity points.

B.Tech. in in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by College of Engineering, Chengannur
3.6
4Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
It has good placements and a calm campus, but self-effort matters a lot.
Placements: I am from the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering batch of the College of Engineering, Chengannur. Around 65-75 percent of students from our course got placed through campus placements, mainly in IT and software roles. The highest package offered ranges from 25-30 LPA, which is offered to a few exceptional students. The average package ranges from 4-6 LPA. The lowest package ranges from 3-3.5 LPA. Major recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, EY, Accenture, IBM, and UST Global. Around 40-50% of students secured internships through self-effort, college support, or online platforms. Common roles offered are software engineer, system engineer, analyst, and related positions.
Infrastructure: For the CSE department at College of Engineering, Chengannur, classrooms and labs are decent and sufficient for regular academic needs. Labs have the required systems and software. The library is well-maintained with enough textbooks and reference materials. Hostel facilities are average, with basic rooms and manageable living conditions. Mess food quality is mixed, while the canteen is useful for snacks. Basic medical facilities are available. Sports facilities exist but are limited and mostly student-managed.
Faculty: Teachers are generally qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them are helpful when approached. Teaching quality varied among faculty but was overall satisfactory. The course curriculum is relevant under KTU, though it is more theory-based and requires additional self-learning to become industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult and need consistent preparation rather than last-minute study. The overall pass percentage is good. Many students pass if they attend classes regularly and prepare well for internal assessment and university exams.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026
Offered by NSS College of Engineering
3.8
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Overall adjustable college.
Placements: 30 to 40 percent of students were placed from my batch. Around 8 LPA is the highest package, and 3 LPA is the lowest. Some major companies that came for placement are Paletro, UST, Tarento, Zoho, and TCS. Only a few students got internship opportunities from the college. Most of them are selected as trainees and system engineers.
Infrastructure: We have a central library as well as a department library. Wi-Fi is available in the library, main block and new block. We have classrooms with projectors. The college hostel is congested but affordable with good food. We have one canteen and the food is of average quality. Our college provides a small sick room especially for girls who are suffering from period camps. Our college is very active in sports and won many prizes and became overall champions many times.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable having degrees from major institutes like IITs and NITs. They are not very helpful. The course curriculum is relevant to an extent even though there is a gap between industry and academia. Semester exams are moderate level and above 80 percent of students passed.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in electronics. I already have a Diploma in electronics and so I wanted to explore more. Many possibilities in the project are one of the best things about my course. I think students should be engaged with more practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge. And also syllabus should be updated with the latest trends. Fests are very few, but technical events take place every now and then.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by MEC Kochi - Government Model Engineering College
3.4
4Placements2Infrastructure4Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Above average placements, bad infrastructure, and strong alumni network.
Placements: 78.88 percent of students are placed in 2025 through campus placements. UST Global, Redbus, Litmus7 Systems Consulting, and KeyValue are some of the top recruiting companies. Information about top roles is not available. The highest package is 32 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: College is very old and small. We have only 2 academic blocks for 7 departments. Wi-Fi is available but very slow. Classrooms are old and lack smart facilities. Library does have all the necessary books. Mens' hostel is very old and needs maintenance. Ladies' hostel is quite new. The mess available in both hostels is better than the mess in most private hostels. Canteen is run by Kudambashree. The food is cheap and average. Medical facilities are not good but there is a good government. Health center is within walking distance. We have one football ground, basketball court, and volleyball court.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and better than most government colleges. We are affiliated with KTU. Curriculum was revised in 2024. It is the most industry-ready curriculum in Kerala. According to new curriculum, internship is necessary to pass the course. The semester exams are challenging enough. More than 90 percent of students pass in computer science and engineering.
Other: I chose this course because I am passionate about computers, and it provides the best placement opportunities. Our college is situated at the heart of Kochi and near Kakkanad InfoPark, giving the best exposure for students. Subjects that are not relevant in modern computer science should not be taught in college (like physics, chemistry, and engineering graphic). We host one of the best tech fest in Kerala. Most clubs are pretty active here. As the college is very small, its pretty small.
