Q: How can I get admission in MAKAUT?

MAKAUT University accepts both merit and entrance based exam scores. The university conducts CET exam in June for admission to courses such as BSc, MSc, BBA and BCA courses. MAKAUT conducts JEMAT for admission to MBA and MHA courses. It also accepts a few other state/ national-level entrance exams such as WBJEE, PGET, UGC NET (including JRF)/ CSIR NET for admission to UG, PG and doctoral-level programmes.

One of the best colleges in West Bengal.

Placements: Minimum 40% marks students are available in this course. The highest package is 4 Lacs per month, and the lowest package is 14,000 per month. Make My Trip, Goibibo, etc., offer roles like travel manager, HOD, human resources, tour guide, and many more in the travel industry.

Infrastructure: Labs are very big. All the facilities are available in this college. The library is very usable. The canteen food is not the best but good. Medical facilities are available here.

Faculty: Teachers are very friendly with us. Teachers are very knowledgeable in all courses. Teachers are ready to prepare us for the industry. We are always helped by the teachers. Semester exams are very tough, but we are ready for the exam questions. It is very easy for us with the teachers.

Other: I chose this course because my elder brother is in this industry. I encouraged my elder brother to join this industry.

SBIHM Jatragachi campus is a very good college for me. I think it will also be good for you.

Placements: Subhas Bose Institute of Hotel Management is one of the best management colleges in Kolkata. In the previous year, about 69% of students from our college got placed. Our course in tourism management offers a salary of Rs. 18,000 per month to Rs. 25,000 per month. This is the basic salary. JW Marriott, Taj Bengal, and ITC hotels come for our placements. In the previous year, about 89% of students got internships. We can go abroad after getting the job. Incentives are also with the job, depending on whether you are working hard or not.

Infrastructure: From the library, we can get every type of book we want. Hostel facilities are provided at Rs. 7000 per month.

Faculty: Faculty members are very friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable and well-deserved for teaching. The college arranges industrial training for six months in the fourth semester, which is very helpful. If you study properly, then semester exams are not going to be hard for you. Every student gets passed every year.

Placements: We have 45 students in our batch. The salary package offered was 9 LPA. Make my Trip was the top recruiter. Almost 100% of the students got the internship. You can create your own business. It's a very good institution, and I'm preparing for my competitive examination. The admission process was rather quick, I secured quite reasonable marks in my 12th, and in the entrance exam thus I was admitted hassle-free.

Infrastructure: We have an air-conditioned room. In our area, George Group of Colleges has a reputation of being one of the good colleges so for counseling this was my first choice because it was the nearest to my home which is affiliated with Calcutta University.

Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified, very good, and cooperative. The course curriculum is relevant and it helps much. They teach us how we can run our business or how we work properly in this type of industry. It's a very good institution and I'm preparing for my competitive examination.

It's a good college to pursue management study. Placements are good, and course fees are reasonable.

Placements: Almost 75% of the students got placed from TTM department. The highest salary offered is Rs. 25,000 per month and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 11,000 per month. SOTC Holidays, Neptune Holidays, Apple Holidays and Cox & Kings are top companies which recruit students from travel and tourism management department. Top roles offered to the students are junior tour manager, senior tour manager, travel agent, visa agent, air ticketing, general tour operator, etc. Almost 95% to 100% of the students get an opportunity of an internship from this course in SOTC Holidays, Zenith Pleasure Holidays, Kundu Travel, Neptune Holidays, Cox & Kings, etc.

Infrastructure: Our college has more than 50 classrooms, and most of them are air-conditioned. There is a library, but Wi-Fi does not work always. There is an average standard canteen in the college campus. The hostel is not available inside the college campus, but the local mess is available in Phulbagan, Dumdum. There are computer labs and standard labs for other departments. Basic medical facilities are available, and the NRS medical college hospital is available just 2 minutes of distance from our college. Sports tournaments are held every year by the sports management department.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are qualified, knowledgeable, and they teach us in a very well manner by following the university rules. They also solve student's problems and doubts after class. Teaching quality is very good. The TTM course curriculum is relevant and industry-focused.

Other: I have chosen this course because I like to travel, and travel and tourism course are unique. The best thing about this course is you can get a chance to do a job in different fields like tour companies, airlines, etc. You can also get an opportunity to learn a foreign language like French and Spanish during the course. A fest is organised every year in our college by the entire George group, and each student does a lot of activities. Department of TTM organises a Tourism Fair every year in which people from outside the college also come to watch this event. We also do activities on National Heritage Day, Teacher's Day, etc.

Satisfied with the placements and faculty on the campus.

Placements: At least 80% of our seniors got placed on the campus. They also provide many internship chances to the students. Since I am a travel management student, I have been in Thomas Cook, Cox and Kings, and Club Seven for internship purpose. The company offers an in-house job, marketing, and selling activity jobs.

Infrastructure: The classes are well-equipped with A/Cs, fans, lights, and Wi-Fi. The computer labs and library is sufficient for the students. Overall, the infrastructure is good, but the venue of the college is a little bit overpopulated and dirty because it is in the main marketplace.

Faculty: The faculty members are good, well-supportive, and friendly. The teaching quality is great, and they always help the student to understand better and also cooperate with the students coming from the other countries like Bhutan. They provide field trip education, company visit, and seminars to share experiences.

Best for good education and the right way for professional life.

Placements: The placements are good, but also good for Masters students like MBA. There are many big companies like Tech Mahindra, TCS, Accenture, etc., are visiting our campus. It's really good for bright students. Basic salary started here are Rs. 25,000 per month for MBA students. For another course, the basic salary was Rs. 12,000.

Infrastructure: Everything is okay and fine also. There are facilities like good labs, good computer labs, gym, play-area, common rooms are also big, canteen also good and clean. The atmosphere is good here to spoke each other with friendly benefits. The transportation is good by through local train and buses.

Faculty: The teachers are awesome. To be frank, their guiding is also good. Every faculty care for every student. All head of the department is too careful with each student. We achieve good marks in academics. The rules and regulations are good. This makes good relationships with teachers and students.
