MBA at NIT Hamirpur aims to train and develop managerial understanding beyond technical competence and make young minds manage resources optimally to meet global market demands. MBA admission at the institute is based on CAT/ MAT/ CMAT scores obtained by eligible candidates. To be eligible for admission a candidate should have a minimum CGPI of 6.0 out of 10 or 60% minimum aggregate in graduation for the unreserved category and a CGPI of 5.5 out of 10 or 55% minimum aggregate in graduation for the reserved category. NIT Hamirpur offers the two-year PG programme in a full-time mode for two years, spread across a semester pattern.
The institute offers MBA programme in multiple specialisation, including Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, and Operations Management. NIT Hamirpur MBA admission is subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria and a valid entrance exam score.
Furthermore, an applicant should have a test percentile/ NTA score/ percentage (minimum 25) in any of the accepted Management exams (CAT/ MAT/ CMAT). To be eligible for NIT Hamirpur MBA programme, a candidate needs to pass a bachelor’s/ professional degree from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). Yes, the difficulty level of MAT exam is lower than other MBA entrance exams. The question paper is usually of easy to moderate difficulty level. The exam is now held for 120 minutes. There are now 150 questions in the exam paper. There is no sectional time limit in MAT which allows the candidate to plan a strategy according to their strengths and weaknesses. The score of Indian and Global Environment section is not considered for percentile calculation thus candidates don't have the stress of fifth section. Also, solving 150 questions is not mandatory so candidates can choose to solve only those questions which they know they can solve accurately. Sectional difficulty level of MAT is also lower than other MBA exams. Candidates can attempt the exam multiple times in the same academic year to improve their score. They also have the option to choose the mode of test - CBT, IBT, PBT - which makes it the most student friendly exam. Also, the MAT cut offs for admission are much lower as compared to other entrance exams.
