It is the worst government college in Siliguri.
Placements: My percentage was 49.7 in the B.Com final year in the session of 2016-2020. There are no packages and placements. We have to find a job by ourselves and it does not matter if we score the highest in college or the lowest just by getting passing marks. The college does not provide any internship facilities like other colleges.
Infrastructure: There is no good infrastructure. There are no labs for practicals and we will get the basic library facility. There is no mess or cafeteria or any hostel food facility. It has sports and games like cricket, football, and volleyball. Classrooms are filled only during exam times and no students are interested in being in regular classes.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is overall good. The course curriculum is relevant only for the basic degree. We will not get any placement or upscale our skills for industry demand to get a job. Exams are quite difficult. We have to study hard and we have to score a minimum of 34% to qualify for exams.
Other: The main reason for applying to this college is to get a degree, and it is an affordable government college. The college should think about students' placement and regular compulsory classes and better skills for the growing demand for skills. It should focus on a job-relevant course. Every year there is a fest for freshers and farewell also. Sports tournaments are also held here.

Disappointed with the curriculum, infrastructure, and facilities of this college.
Placements: The college doesn't provide any on-campus placements to its students, as there is no placement cell in the college. Also, there are no company visits at our college. Students do not get any internships from the college. They have to apply for these on their own off-campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very average and needs to be improved. The college building is quite old, classrooms are very small, and labs and libraries are not well-equipped. There are no cafeterias or Wi-Fi facility. There is a hostel, which is below average, and the mess or canteen food is very poor and hygienic.
Faculty: First of all, there are very few professors who are qualified and knowledgeable, but not enough to teach all subjects. They teach using outdated methods. The course curriculum is outdated and doesn't prepare students with real-life industry knowledge. Exams are quite manageable, and the majority of students pass.
Other: There are no events or fests held here, other than freshers' party and farewell. The campus crowd is huge, but most of them don't come to college. Students also get scholarship facilities. There are no extracurricular activities being held.

Overall, a below average college as of 2024.
Placements: Zero placement opportunities are given by the college during the academic season. And even after graduation, very few placement opportunities are available via the alumni portals with very low packages. Definitely not a good option when it comes to placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent. During the initial academic season of 2020-21, the infrastructure was poor, but construction has been going on on the campus, and improvements are being made. The new library is quite good, yet the department of commerce needs more improvements.
Faculty: The faculty used to be good when I joined in the year 2020, but as of 2023, the experienced teachers have all left the college, and mostly freshmen teachers are there. Only a very handful of experienced teachers are left in the college, so that's one concern.
Other: Initially I never planned to join this college, but since I had no better options of colleges in Siliguri since all the colleges are more or less the same, and because of the pandemic in the year 2020, I could opt to leave my city and go to other cities, so I had to go with Salesian due to the lack of options available.

It's a good college with good mentoring and experienced teachers and teaching facilities.
Placements: According to the course, they provide placement; not all courses get placements from this college. I haven't heard much about the roles and internships provided by the college, but students have gotten into companies across the country with their perseverance and hard work.According to the course, they provide placement; not all courses get placements from this college. I haven't heard much about the roles and internships provided by the college, but students have gotten into companies across the country with their perseverance and hard work.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi available only for faculty Labs are there for practical work Few classes have AC and few has projector. Has 3 halls to conduct meetings and events. And it has good canteen facilities. Canteen here have both veg and non veg facilities and provides hygiene services .
Faculty: The teacher was indeed very helpful and had lots of experience and different ways to teach students. They are recruited with high standards and knowledge. Many lecturers and professors have helped students develop their careers and futures with their high knowledge and experience.
Other: B.Com is a financial and business perspective course that helps an individual take steps into the corporate and secondary to tertiary sectors. Thus, knowing more and having personal interests in this field led me to this course, and it has been a good decision to choose the subject.

The Best Faculty is what Salesian College provides.
Placements: There were no such placements offered, and the offered placements were like housekeeping and so on, which were not appropriate for commerce students. Many companies didn't arrive for recruitment. Around 15% of the students were recruited; others didn't get any.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided were all good, but the food provided in the canteen was not that good and was costly. Sports are given much importance. Medical reasons are not considered that much, as the issue of attendance always lies with the students. The curriculum is not that much available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. Yes, events are organized according to the needs of the market so that the students can learn about them beforehand. The difficulty level of exams is appropriate according to what is taught. The pass percentage is 40%.

Best College in Every Aspect in Siliguri.
Placements: 40% of the students got placements in MNCs, with a few securing positions at TCS, PwC, Wipro, and others. The placement facility is new to the Salesian environment and has proven very helpful for students, as it provides job opportunities within the campus, eliminating the need for post-graduation job searches.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very clean and hygienic, featuring modular, air-conditioned classrooms with LED projectors for enhanced understanding of concepts. The campus is spacious, and the view of the hills from the college premises is stunning.
Faculty: During my time, the course curriculum and examination structure followed the guidelines of the University of North Bengal, and the syllabus was thoroughly covered before exams. CIA tests were conducted monthly to assess progress in each subject.
Other: I was from a commerce background in school and always wanted to continue this field of study. Salesian College was the best place for this course.
