What is CPGET (OUCET)?
Osmania University conducts the Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET) once a year. Earlier known as OUCET (Osmania University Common Entrance Test), CPGET is held for admission to various PG, PGD (post-graduate diploma) courses, and five-year integrated courses at Osmania and other participating universities. The entrance exam is quite competitive. Nearly 65,000 students apply for the exam each year due to its widespread popularity and objective of providing admission to various universities in the state of Telangana. The stark difference between the number of applicants and seats available for each programme, the postgraduate level entrance exam is one of the most competitive entrance exams out there.

CPGET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Applying for CPGET 2026 requires fulfilment of some specific eligibility criteria. Age is no bar. Each and every requirement is decided by the Osmania University. It differs from programme to programme based on the stream and subject. Generally, candidates must have scored a minimum of 40 per cent in the qualifying examination. The CPGET 2026 application form will be available only in online mode. When you complete the CPGET 2026 form, you have to pay application fee. It is different for each category. If you want to apply for CPGET 2026, just follow the steps below to complete the application. CPGET exam dates 2026 will expected to be in August 2026.
Step 1: CPGET Registration
The registration is complete only when the candidates enter the required primary information including the number of entrance tests to be taken and the requisite registration fee is paid. The registration fee may be paid at any T.S./ A.P. online centres or by using Credit/ Debit Cards or Net Banking. When you finish CPGET registration, you get a Registration ID. Keep it safe, you will need it to fill the online form and later for admit cards or checking results. To register, you have to put some basic information.

Step 2: Fill up the CPGET exam 2026 application form
You have to login to cpget.tgche.ac.in website, using your registration ID, mobile number, and date of birth to fill and submit CPGET online application. Before submitting, check all the details, photo and signature are correct. After that, take a printout of your CPGET application for later use.
The candidate will be held personally responsible for any incorrect/ inconsistent entries in the online application form. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage if the particulars furnished by the candidate are found to be incorrect.
Step 3: Uploading the Documents
Before submitting the online application, the candidates must keep ready the scanned copies of their latest passport-size coloured photograph, his/ her signature, caste certificates, EWS certificate (if applicable), latest income (If applicable), Aadhaar number and PH certificate (if applicable).
Step 4: Pay CPGET Application Fee
The CPGET application fee is INR 600 for SC, ST, PH students, and INR 800 for others. If you add another subject, you pay extra INR 450 for each. You can make the payment using debit card or internet banking. There is also a late fee of INR 500 and INR 2000 if you send the CPGET form after the last date.

The test will be conducted for all the courses offered. The same will also be displayed on the notice board of the Convener, CPGET – 2026, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University. The entrance tests for all the subjects will be of 90 minutes duration. For all entrance tests, the question paper will have 100 objective (multiple choice only) type questions for 100 marks. The questions will be framed only from the syllabus of the entrance test. The questions may have more than one correct answer option.
Note: Thumb impressions and photographs of the candidates will be taken at the time of the entrance test through a biometric system. This data in the soft form will be used at the time of admission while giving hostel admission and wherever necessary.
Step 3: CPGET 2026 Results
Once the CPGET 2026 entrance exam results are announced. A rank list will be released on a designated day. candidates will be called for counselling On the basis of the rank list.
Step 4: CPGET 2026 Counselling
Admissions are conducted through a process of web-based counselling. Before admissions are allotted, qualified and eligible candidates have to exercise options through the web in the order of their preference. If the admitted candidates in each course are found to be less than 10 then that course will be cancelled for that academic year.
