PMIST admits students to its BTech programme under three criteria. Only the admissions under the first criteria are based on the scores of accepted entrance exams. Candidates can get an admission at PMIST for BTech without an entrance exam under the other two criteria. However, a preference is given to the candidates who have appeared for an entrance exam. The University has successfully concluded the 2023 placements. A total of 678 students registered for the 2023 drive, out of which 581 were successfully placed. Further,  68 companies participated and distributed over 798 job offers. The the highest package and average package offered during Periyar Maniammai University placements 2023 were INR 6 LPA and INR 2.50 LPA, respectively. TCS, DAIKIN, Hexaware Technologies, and many other leading companies participated in PMIST placements 2023.

The total students intake at PMU for BSc courses is 260. This is a cumulative total of the BSc seats for various specialisations offered at PMU. A course-wise division of total BSc seats is given in the table below:

Yes, JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) marks are accepted by Periyar Maniammai University for admission to its engineering majors. Applicants may apply for admission to Periyar Maniammai University's B.Tech programs if they have taken the JEE Main entrance test and have a valid score. Students must have passed the 12th grade with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for the reserved category) in addition to having a valid JEE Main score.
PMU creates an admission merit list and shortlists students for counseling and seat distribution based on the JEE Main and 12th results.During the counseling procedure, seats are distributed according to JEE Main rank, programme preference, academic standing, category, availability, etc.

The fees is different for different courses B.Tech courses 1lakh 40000 per year  and security money at the time of admission is 10000 rs.

For MBA courses the fees is 2 Lacs per year and security. Money is 20000 .

For other courses such as bsc  in pcm or pcb is 50000 per year.

For B.Sc in agriculture is around 80000 per year and security fees is 10000 rs.

For barchar courses it is around 1 Lacs 90000 per year .

For animation courses the Diploma courses in animation fees is around 1lakh 20000 per year.

For biotech courses B.Sc biotechnology or other life Science course the fees is around 90000 per year.
