The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in BSc (honours) programmes offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. Candidates are required to keep the following information in mind while appearing for PUBDET counselling round:

• Candidate’s credentials will be verified at the counselling centre.
• Aspirants need to appear in-person at their counselling centre.
• Credentials of candidates eligible for counselling and admission will be verified on stipulated dates, which will notified to the candidates.
• The Presidency University quota will be applicable for candidates who have qualified their BA/BSc (honors) degree through regukar examination of the university as per merit.
• Admission through non-PU quota will be based on the rank secured in PUBDET 2024 entrance exam.

According to the report, a total of 13 UG 3-year and 88 PG 2-year students were placed during Presidency University Kolkata placements in 2023. Presidency University Kolkata released its provisional general merit list for UG admission on August 27. This was followed by the release of first provisional merit list for admission, based on which students will be able to confirm their seats. The university currently offers UG, PG and doctoral-level courses in the field of Arts and Science. For admission to the University, WBJEEB conducted PUMDET and PUBDET exams for PG and UG admission. However, from the academic batch of 2021-22, WBJEEB has cancelled both these exams and admission will strictly be based on merit scores obtained by the students at the undergraduate level and Class 12 for PG and UG admission, respectively.
