What is PUBDET?

PUBDET full form is Presidency University Bachelor’s Degree Entrance Test. It is an offline test conducted with pen and paper. Students who want to study at the university can apply for up to two subjects through PUBDET application form. Presidency University is very popular in West Bengal. Around 40 to 50 thousand students apply every year. The total number of seats is announced before PUBDET counselling and seat allotment. Usually, seats offered are much fewer than the number of applicants, which makes the exam really competitive.

PUBDET 2026 Counselling

PUBDET admission process is conducted in two rounds. Candidates who have secured a rank in the PUBDET merit list are eligible to apply for the counselling process. However, all eligible candidates must complete the e-registration first to participate in the counselling rounds. 

PUBDET Counselling: Registration Details

Details for PUBDET counselling registration are as follows:

  • Candidates must register online at www.wbjeeb.nic.in or www.wbjeeb.in.
  • Registration fee is Rs. 500/-.
  • All candidates need to provide following details to register for PUBDET counselling:
    • Personal, academic, bank account, and contact details.
    • PUBDET 2026 application or roll number.
    • Class 10 passing details with marks obtained in Mathematics.
    • Class 12 passing details

Note: All candidates must note that no further corrections will be made once the submission is confirmed.

PUBDET 2026 Application Process

The subject-wise eligibility criteria for PUBDET examination are provided below.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Only candidates who passed in 2025 or later are eligible.

  • There is no minimum or maximum age limit to apply.

  • Candidates must have studied at least five recognised subjects, each carrying 100 or more marks, including English. Environmental Science will not be considered for eligibility.

  • The aggregate percentage will be calculated using the best four recognised subjects in the Class 12 examination, regardless of the subjects chosen for admission.

  • Candidates with International A-Level or International Baccalaureate (IB) qualifications must have at least three IGCSE subjects and three A-Level subjects, with English studied at either level.

  • Candidates must meet the minimum aggregate percentage prescribed by Presidency University for their respective category to be eligible for admission.

PUBDET 2026 Application Process

PUBDET application forms are released online on WBJEE website. Students who wish to apply for PUBDET 2026 must submit their application form before deadline. PUBDET 2026 application form process includes following steps:

PUBDET Exam Centres 

While filling out PUBDET 2026 application form, candidates are required to choose their preferred exam centres. If the selected centres reach maximum capacity, an alternative centre will be allotted based on its proximity to chosen locations. No requests for changes in exam centres will be entertained after release of admit cards.
