Presidency University, a college that gives you the way to your life.

Placements: This course is in a lot of demand nowadays and it helps to develop multiple skills during these 3 years which prevents one from lagging behind in the upcoming genre of industry. In-campus placements are not there in our college but due to this course, off-campus placements can be cracked with flying colors.

Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped, Whenever we tried to get readings on instruments, we rarely faced any issues. Teachers are knowledgeable but more often they provide only bookish knowledge rather than practical skills. Individual has to work himself/herself rather depending on them to get his practicals done.

Faculty: Teachers are cooperative, moreover the exams are somewhat standard and the course is also a bonus for students who are preparing themselves for industry. Course provides with more of what we call theoretical knowledge, practical knowledge is something that we need to gather on our own.

Other: As worldwide introspecting number of mind is increasing, so the demand supply chain is also creating new high every moment, so there is a big chain working to get their demand done by the available supply, and this college is providing it.

Review of Presidency University, Kolkata.

Placements: The central placement cell of our university is not so active. Many departments offer placements after 2 years of master's course. For my department, after three years of Bachelor's degree, many coaching institutes and oil, cement and pharmaceutical companies offer jobs with low salary packages. The job profiles offered are not so attractive, but the jobs offered to master's students are attractive and also salary packages and others facilities are very good. The average salary package offered for an M.Sc. chemistry student is 4-5 Lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: The college has an excellent infrastructure. It has a beautiful playground called Presi Green. All-time Wi-Fi is available at a good speed. The classrooms are extremely good. There are 3 canteens on campus premises named Srishti, Purushottam, and Sukumar da canteen. There is a central library which is very rich in terms of the collection of books. I am not a hostel border, but I knew that the rooms and other facilities of our Eden Hindu hostel are quite good.

Faculty: I am from the chemistry department, the professors are highly educated and helpful. They cover the entire syllabus within the allotted time. They are so good that you don't need a private tutor for those subjects (CU students need that), and the questions are much more standard than other universities.

Other: Fests like are Miliue, Ispat, Icon, etc., are conducted here.

Our college is the best place to secure the future of students, and it has good facilities.

Placements: All the students from our course passed with good marks, and it is due to the help of teachers. The highest salary package offered is 1.7 LPA. Many roles such as a chemistry scientist and lab workers were offered to students in our course. About 80% of the students get internships in many companies which are related to the branch of chemistry. They include perfume companies and many other super glue companies.

Infrastructure: Our college has a good infrastructure, along with many modern and well-equipped labs and good electricity facilities. Our college contains many labs which are spacious and well-ventilated rooms. There are huge libraries, playgrounds, swimming pools, hostels, games equipment, assembly area and dance and music halls.

Faculty: Teachers here are very good. They are the ones who build a good nation and make the world a better place. They teach us the importance of the study. They are much esteemed in society as they elevate the living standards of people. They play an important role in society who educate people. They are very good, helpful and really well mannered. The teaching is very good.

Other: I have chosen this course because of the good teaching provided here.

Presidency University's present condition.

Placements: Only 2 out of 11 is placed. The IIT NEET coaching institute AAKASH took that. But all the students got an internship in other MNCs. Majority of students will go for M.Sc. after B.Sc. it is very difficult to get a job. But after M.Sc. The majority of students will get jobs in various MNC.

Infrastructure: The condition of the hostel is now very bad. In every room, approximately 10-12 students stay but the room is for only 6 students. There are some 4 seater rooms available but it is less in number. There is a nice playground but till now it is not under the hostel authority. 24*7 security persons are available and water facility is very good here.

Faculty: 13 out of 19 are very helpful. All have Ph.D. degrees. Some have 1-4 post docs too. There are few teachers whose teaching ability is very good. There are also some teachers whose have no sound practical knowledge. To be honest, It does not make students industry ready.

Other: It is a heritage Institute. 2 noble laureates passed from here. To be honest, I took admission because of its majesty. But now I felt that I did wrong. The only thing that I like is political awareness.

One of the best brands of college in Kolkata but you'll have to set your own path!

Placements: We didn't really have a lot of placement options as most of the students opted for Masters. There weren't a lot of placement options. But, I think some private teaching institutes did visit the college but I wasn't interested. so I can't comment more. I did get an internship abroad when I was in my masters because I topped in the Bachelors from Presidency.

Infrastructure: I would say the infrastructure is decent, we obviously didn't have state of the art spectroscopes and other instruments. Classrooms were decent too. There was a canteen where edible food was available at a reasonable price! I didn't live in the hostel so I can't comment on the state of the hostel rooms.

Faculty: The faculty was really great in the first two years, but then since the college turned into an autonomous university, most of the teachers left and there was an exponential decrease in the quality of teaching. And I think that is still the case.
