The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in BSc (honours) programmes offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. To know the eligibility for PUBDET exam, students can check the points mentioned below:

• Candidates should have cleared higher secondary examination (Class 12) that is conducted by CBSE, West Bengal or equivalent exam, not before 2020.
• The candidate must pass Class 12 with at least five recognised subjects, including English language and excluding Environmental Science. The aggregate is to be calculated in the best four recognised subjects.

In the year 2022 admissions, the application process for BSc courses at Presidency University commenced in the month of August. However, for the 2023 session, applications opened earlier, and candidates were advised to submit their applications before the deadline. Presidency University Kolkata adheres to a reservation policy as per the government's regulations. 

You must first register and fill the application form to appear for the PUBDET exam. You must visit the official website of WBJEEB to fill and apply for PUBDET. In the application form, you are required to fill important information like personal details (name, parent's name, category, contact information, etc.) and academic details (mark sheets, transfer certificate, etc.). PUBDET application form will be available soon at the official website of the exam. However, for the previous academic session, PUBDET application form was released on January 3, 2023 and closed on January 31, 2023. After successfully registering, candidates can fill the application form by entering information such as personal details such as domicile, category, PwD status, home district, family income status, religion, nationality etc. Academic qualifications of Class 10 and Class 12 details also need to be filled in.

Candidates are required to keep the following information in mind while appearing for PUBDET counselling round:

• Candidate’s credentials will be verified at the counselling centre.
• Aspirants need to appear in-person at their counselling centre.
• Credentials of candidates eligible for counselling and admission will be verified on stipulated dates, which will notified to the candidates.
• The Presidency University quota will be applicable for candidates who have qualified their BA/BSc (honors) degree through regukar examination of the university as per merit.
• Admission through non-PU quota will be based on the rank secured in PUBDET 2024 entrance exam.

Yes, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB) conducts PUBDET on behalf of the Presidency University and the application form are available at the official website of WBJEEB. The entrance exam has its own website. PUBDET comprises separate entrance exams that are conducted to offer admission to aspirants in different Science and humanities programmes offered at Presidency University at the undergraduate level. While appearing for PUBDET exam, candidates can apply for a maximum of any two subjects.
