• Candidates need to pass BA (Hons) in relevant discipline to apply for Faculty of Arts MA specialisations. For some of the specialisations such as ENVS, Geography, HR and HD, etc., BSc/ BCom (Hons) is also accepted.
• Aspirants must pass MA or BA (Hons./ Spl.) in a relevant subject to apply for Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Visual Arts MA specialisations.

STEP 2: Admission to RBU Kolkata is based on the performance in the qualifying exam. The university considers the merit in the last qualifying exam for admission to most of the courses. Yes, RBU offers 11 programmes in distance learning mode from its Salt Lake campus. These programmes are offered under the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) and are recognised by the Distance Education Council (DEC). In addition to this, candidates can also seek admission to distance programmes offered at RBU Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). There is no age bar for admission to distance courses and the courses offered through distance mode are MSW and MA in 10 different specialisations.

For admission to the UG courses at RBU, no entrance exams are required since admissions are merit-based. While for admission to the PG courses, the RBU Entrance Test is required. It is a Multiple Choice exam.
