Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Batch of 2027

Good for budget. Zero college life.
Placements: The least number of students get placed through campus placements. The college claims a 45-70 percent placement rate (totally false) for BBA with an average package of 2 LPA-3 LPA, but many students are struggling to find off-campus jobs. Don't fall for the placement claims. On-ground placements are almost zero.
Infrastructure: As per the fee structure, the campus only offers a library and classrooms. We don't get any extra facilities for sports, painting, or other activities. While it feels reasonable for this price range, the infrastructure is quite average, and no hostel is provided.
Faculty: The college has a good pass percentage, and the faculty is decent. In fact, almost all of the teachers here are alumni of this college. However, the exam management is quite poor. For instance, the recent semester 1 exam was poorly managed, though they fixed the issues quickly. Also, compared to other universities, the exams here get delayed quite a bit.
Other: There is zero campus life here. No fests, events, or college-hosted activities. The college provides nothing. It is strictly an option for students with severe financial or family issues. For a proper college experience, this is definitely not the place.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science - Batch of 2026
Offered by Gossner College

It's a worthy experience. The college has nice faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: Decent placements but mostly for commerce. Here, the placement cell is active, and there's also a placement fair. High chances of getting placed if you have skills, and here are some government skill learning programs that happen, which help students learn new skills. Students gets certificates also, and some get internships.
Infrastructure: It has quite resourceful facilities, labs, and a library to borrow books. Classrooms have smart boards. The college has Wi-Fi and water coolers, different zones for girls and boys to relax without any disturbance. Hostel facility is also available but only for SC/ST students at very minimal charges.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful in nature. The curriculum is totally worth the time. Teachers not only teach us about the syllabus, but they also teach us about the IT sector and make us interview-ready. Here, our teachers teach us beyond being presentable.
Other: I chose this course because I was quite interested in learning coding and wanted to participate in Hackathons. Events are very joyful. You get a 100 percent scholarship if you are OBC or SC/ST.

B.Com.(Hons.) in Accounts - Batch of 2027
Offered by St. Xavier's College

Overall good. It is well-disciplined and strict regarding studies, especially attendance.
Placements: Many internship and placement opportunities are regularly updated in the college placement group. Usually, there are around 30 to 40 opportunities, but this year the number is lower. ICICI is a good company that visits the college and provides good opportunities.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, greenery, and large, spacious classrooms. There are spacious playgrounds for different sports, three canteens, and huge parking areas that require a gate pass. Drinking water and washroom facilities are good. Overall, college campus is nice and peaceful.
Faculty: Faculty is good and very strict regarding attendance, discipline in classes, and studies. The teaching quality is good. The exams are a bit difficult. Good students who work hard manage to get a 9 CGPA. This requires focused studying. Students are expected to write a proper answers of around 300 to 400 words for a 15-mark question.
Other: I am from a commerce background, so I chose B.Com. I wish college were less strict regarding attendance. They gave more flexibility to students with uniforms, such as including shirts and hoodies as options. Students should also be allowed to wear footwear and trousers of their choice. It helps them feel more relaxed while studying instead of wearing stiff shirts, pants, and formal attire.

I'm satisfied with my choice of college, course, and placements.
Placements: There were various companies came to our college even I got placed at ICICI Bank. Around 40 percent of students got placed. The lowest package was around 2.50 LPA, the highest was 7.29 LPA, the average was 3 LPA. The top recruiter for BBA was ICICI Bank. All the students in BBA got internships as it was a part of the curriculum. We had an industrial visit to companies such as O-Hub, Varun Beverages, Parle G, Bharat Masala at Bhuneshwar. It was an all-over knowledgeable and fun experience accompanied by professors.
Infrastructure: There was a Wi-Fi facility, hostel for boys, enough classrooms for lectures, labs, a library, an indoor sports space, a ground for outdoor games, a canteen, a medical room, and a sports tournament. They valued not only the curriculum but also sports and other extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Professors were knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to approach. The course was highly relevant to the real world and they also provided practical exposure. Exams were not so difficult if you were regular during classes. The passing marks in each subject were 44 percent. They also provided 6 grace marks in only one subject for the whole duration of the course.
Other: I wanted to work with private organisations and corporate life basically BBA was perfect according to my interests. Extracurricular activities should be more for BBA students and fests should be held every year so that, along with learning students can experience relaxing moments. Fests were conducted.

MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Batch of 2028
Offered by MGM Medical College And Hospital, Jamshedpur

Best government medical college in Jamshedpur.
Placements: Upcoming batches have up to 250 MBBS seats, while the current intake is 150. The internship stipend is Rs. 25,000, which is fairly good. Students also secure good ranks in NEET PG. PG seats have increased to 150, creating more opportunities and providing good clinical exposure for the next generation of doctors.
Infrastructure: The college has a new hospital with good facilities. It includes a cath lab, rebuilt hostels, a good mess, and electricity. Due to limited hostel capacity, some students from new batches may have to stay outside the campus for their first six months. Labs for all subjects are available. Community visits are regularly conducted.
Faculty: Courses are completed on time. Practical sessions are conducted regularly. Faculty members are good and provide quality teaching through projectors. Exams are conducted in three internal phases, followed by pre-university and final examinations. A library is available for borrowing books, along with study halls for group discussions.
Other: College is in a peaceful area near mountains, lakes, and ponds. Local markets and restaurants are easily accessible. Annual fests, Saraswati Puja celebrations, Sports Week, and New Year parties are organized every year.

NIMAT review from a CSE Branch Student.
Placements: In the CSE branch, around 50 percent of students have been placed so far. The placement percentage is expected to increase in the coming year as the batch progresses. The highest package is 14.9 LPA from MME (Vedanta). The highest package in CSE is 10.5 LPA. The average package for Computer Science is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Trinamix, Accenture, Reliance, Vedanta, JSW, and others. Around 40–50 percent of students secure internships through their own skills.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good and exceed expectations. Everything is available, including Wi-Fi, lab access, library, and classrooms. Hostel facilities include double-sharing rooms in the first year and single rooms from the second year onwards. Mess food is average. Students can manage with it, though it may require some adjustment. Medical facilities are available. The college provides a medical card for free checkups. Sports facilities include cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, and chess, with active clubs.
Faculty: Overall, all teachers are helpful and well qualified. Many holding Ph.D. degrees from IITs and NITs. The CSE curriculum is NEP-based and industry-oriented. If students study regularly instead of just before exams, they can easily score above 8.5 CGPA.
Other: My branch was originally CE, but it has now been changed to CSE this year. This gives students more time and flexibility to enjoy college life. Also prepare for other exams, and explore opportunities. There is not much academic pressure in this college. If your rank is between 70,000 to 1 lakh, you can consider this college. Overall, it is good, though exposure is limited. One batch has already passed out. So placements are expected to improve in the coming years.
