No, you cannot take direct admission to some courses. The Ranchi University has many courses for doctoral ,undergraduates and  postgraduates students. There are many different branches like engineering , medicine , nursing, science, arts , Commerce, and many  more. To get in, you need good scores on the entrance exam and qualifying exam. It also accepts neet , jee main , CAT, and GATE scores ,etc. It's important to review the Ranchi University admission process before applying to a program. 

The University has not released the placement rate as of now. However, the number of students placed over the past few years placements has been disclosed. During 2023 placements, 44 students were placed. Earlier, 139 students were placed during the 2023 drive. The table below represents the Ranchi University placement trends for the past three years:

The application forms for various courses offered by Ranchi University usually come out in the official portal of the University. The dates concerning the release of application forms depends on the courses preferred. For any all India entrance exam based course, the forms are out generally after 3-4 weeks after the exam completetion. For other courses for which University conducts merit and entrance exams, the notification regarding it is sent 1-2 months beforehand in the official portal of the University. Candidates should regularly keep tabs on the official site to remain updated with the concerned dates. 

Ranchi University offers both UG and PG courses and admission into these courses maybe entrance or merit based. Skill based courses like MBBS/BDS require NEET-UG scores and B.Tech requires JEE-Main or JCECE scores. M.Tech requires GATE scores followed by CCMT counselling. MBA requires CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA scores. Courses like B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing, LLB take admissions based on merits of previous qualifying exams. Admissions towards B.Ed courses are done by University conducted entrance exams. All other basic sciences and humanities courses, both UG and PG require CUET UG and CUET PG scores respectively. 

Ranchi University is a below average university. If you observe the data online about Ranchi university, the college does not seem good. the college offers multiple programs in medical, engineering, bsc, msc, Ph.D and many more.

Many small colleges are affiliated to it. if you see this university placement wise, the student intake here is more than 6500 and the placement is only about 200-300 students with an average package of 2-3 lakh. I do not recommend the college for placements on observing the data online and reviews of many students. The faculty performance is also declining year to year, with delays in holding exams, not showing the results on time and more problems.

Studying at Ranchi University is not free. The University offers UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate level courses in full-time mode. The course fees include various components, based on which an articulate amount is derived, specific to every course. However, to learn about the accurate Ranchi University course feee structure, candidates must visit the campus and enquire from the administration before applying for any course. RU Ranchi offers all courses with a tuition fee ranging from INR 966 to INR 11.8 Lakh. 

Ranchi University's Placement Cell was created in 2010. This Cell is completely equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, a group discussion hall, and a conference area. Since the establishment of this Placement Cell, a number of companies such as H.D.F.C. BANK, INGVYSYA BANK, STERLITE (A company of the Vedanta Group), Magma Fincorp Ltd., DAINIK BHASKAR, BASIX Ltd., RJ School of Management Study, THYROCARE, GENPACT, WIPRO, I.I.J.T. Ltd., HCL TECHNO 

B.tech, the course of innovations and technology. Ranchi univeristy offers good curriculum and updated syllabus for B.tech. the university has proper laboratories and department building assigned to each different course in Btech. It has many branches for engineering that are Computer science engineering , Civil engineering,  Electrical engineering,  Electronics & Communications engineering, Mechenical engineering, Metallurgical engineering,  Material Engg,  IT engineering and Manufacturing engineering. Ranchi university offers good curriculum and updated syllabus in all courses. the eligibility to join these course is to have intermediaite in physics , chemistry and mathematics. the univeristy also accepts jee main score or Jcece.

Students are required to submit these documents listed below while filling out the application form:

• Recent passport size photograph
• Marksheet for qualifying degree  of final semester/ final year (seventh semester/ pre-final year marksheet for the ‘appearing candidates' whose final semester/ final year results are pending)
• Qualifying MTech degree marksheet of final semester/ final year fourth semester/ pre-final year marksheet for the ‘appearing candidates’ whose final semester / final year results are pending)
• Valid GATE scorecard (as indicated in the application form for GATE candidates)
• Caste certificate/ EWS income certificate (to avail seat reservation under respective reserved category. The OBC-NCL certificate should be as per Annexure I and must be issued on or after September 01, 2019)
• Physically Challenged (PC) persons are required to upload a certificate of disability from the authorised medical board attached to one of the following: Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) for Physically Handicapped persons/ Special Employment Exchange for Physically Handicapped/ Government Hospital (district and state level)
• Endorsement certificate from the present employer (for sponsored candidates).
