The college has a good academic environment and supportive staff.
Placements: Everybody is focused on SET/NET exams, so as of now, no one has applied for placements. In our course, most students aspire to become professors. However, teachers keep us updated about ongoing recruitment. The majority of placements happen through campus. For this year (2024–2025), the top recruitment is from Infosys. Professors also guide us about teaching vacancies available in the city. The earn-and-learn scheme is helpful too.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious, the campus is clean, and advanced lab facilities are available. The department also has its library, and students get free access to Wi-Fi (1 GB/day). The hostel facilities are okay, but cleanliness and food quality in both the mess and canteen can be improved. Medical facilities are available for common needs. Basic sports facilities such as a gym, playground, and sports equipment.
Faculty: All the sessions are interactive. Teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. The teaching staff is well-qualified with a strong command over their subjects. The curriculum is relevant. The difficulty of semester exams is subjective. You should have a basic knowledge of previous studies, and then you'll be eligible. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: The best thing about this course is that there's a lot of scope in mathematics. Talking about extracurricular activities, there are sports and culture, which are held annually. Also, lots of scholarships are available despite the fee being affordable.

Placements: Placements are very good. Top recruiting companies are TCS, TVS, and Amazon. The average salary package offered was 16 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are excellent. Washrooms are better. Our campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The food served in the canteen is decent.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good. They are kind, well-qualified, and helpful. The teaching quality is better for us to understand every topic easily. Semester exams are moderate.

BOTH UNIVERSITIES are good options for BSc. However, if we talk about fees for the course, Fergusson College is cheaper than Shivaji University, where the tuition fee for a BSc starts from INR 2,900 to INR 47,400, and the tuition fee for a BSc at Fergusson College is INR 26,340.
