B.Tech. in Food Technology - Batch of 2025

It has a good campus life and a well-equipped library.
Placements: Not many students got placed in the last three years. About 30-40% of the total students got placed with an average salary package of 5 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 6.5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies for my course are Parle, Bveg, Amul, Mother Dairy, etc. About 75% of students in my course got internships in top food companies like Haldirams, Bikano, Britannia, Patanjali Foods, etc. The top roles offered are quality assistant, quality executive, production manager, and production executive.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-equipped with all the amenities. The infrastructure is also good and well-maintained. The department has its own library with journals, books, and research papers. The department has Wi-Fi facilities. There are labs for conducting the practicals, and it has all the required equipment. The university has 7 girls hostels and 5 boys hostels. Every hostel has over more than 50 rooms. The hostel mess provides three meals and evening snacks.
Faculty: Faculty members of the university are helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant, and it covers all the important subjects that we require in the industry. The semester exam's difficulty level ranges from moderate to difficult. The pass percentage is about 33%.

The college provides the best campus experience.
Placements: There are almost 50 students per batch; out of that, around 10 students get placed in highly reputed companies every year. The package varies between 15k to 35k at the start and increments later. Top companies like Parle, Nestle, Amul, ITC, etc., are the recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is just average with efficient water facilities, Wi-Fi, library, security, etc. But the drawback is the poor quality food provided in the mess. There are some extracurricular activities like food fests, sports, etc. There is also an active medical facility hospital available on this campus.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and are sufficient in knowledge. They really help throughout the semesters to clear every doubt. Also, this course is highly practical. They also provide us opportunities for various industrial visits and training.

Provides a really good campus life.
Placements: Almost 20 percent of students are provided placements from each batch. Placements are given based on the students' overall performance and skills. The package starts from 25k per month. The top recruiting companies are Parle, Britannia, etc. Some of the roles provided are food safety officer, quality assurance, etc.
Infrastructure: The college provides every necessary requirement for students such as Wi-Fi connection, practical labs, libraries, hostel rooms, canteens, etc. The food quality is just average. The college gives importance to sports as well and conducts different tournaments.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is also the very best. The course provides all the knowledge needed for industry readiness and also offers training for different industries during the summer break. The exams are really easy, and almost 90 percent of students pass every year.

I am not satisfied with the placement and infrastructure of our food tech department.
Placements: In the last 2 to 3 years there are fewer chances of placement here, i.e., about 10 -20%. Companies like Amul, and Banas dairy come for placements. Around 10% of students get an internship. We get an internship in companies like Amul, and Britania. The average package here is 2 LPA-2.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are average. All the facilities in our hostel and the food quality of mess are average. The medical facilities are quite good. We have sports and games less often organised over here. The facilities in the hostel are not that much satisfying.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful here. They are knowledgeable and well qualified and the quality of teachers is good. Here the teaching faculty is good. Our course curriculum makes us ready for the industry. Semester exams are not so difficult. About 33% is the passing percentage.

It is an excellent place for bright students.
Placements: Only a few students get a chance to be placed in industries. Most of them got placements off campus. Nestle, Amul, and ITC are the top companies that recruit students of our college. The top rols offered is junior food analyst. Majority of them got internships in Parle, Nestle, and Britania. Some started their own startups.
Infrastructure: All basic facilities are available in our college. Wi-Fi is paid and some of the classrooms have air-conditioners. The food served in the hostel is average and the rooms are also average. There are 4 hostels namely IH, PG, NH, and NIH.
Faculty: The course is prepared according to industries' requirements. The teachers are very helpful and their teaching quality is top-notch. The teachers are very helpful though some are very strict. The course makes students placement ready if they study with proper guidance. Exams are on the tough side but if you study well, you can score well. All teachers give good marks, even the strict ones but you have to study hard to make it. People lose interest in studies so they fail.
Other: Many cultural events happen in this college. You can find tournaments happening year round, fod fest, every department has its own fest. This college gives special concession to sports candidate. The campus is lush green, full of greenery. You can experience snowfall in summer. There are trees whose leaves snow like seeds. Eco club, literary club, photography club, dance club etc., are available on campus.

Review of SHUATS - Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences.
Placements: Around 12-13 students are placed from the senior batch. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. The top recruiters are Amul, Sudha Dairy, Britannia, etc. Almost 25% of students get internships. The top roles offered are food operations specialist and quality inspection engineer.
Infrastructure: All modern facilities are available like Wi-Fi, smart classes, air-conditioned classrooms, digital laboratories, and a library. The hostel is average, if students want to enjoy hostel vibes it is made for them through the food is not acceptable. This college has its separate hospital available to students. If students want to participate in NSS and NCC, then they can just contact the sports department. Every year state sports programs are held, and students can also take part in inter-university tournaments.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and they have a vast knowledge regarding this field. The course is tough and has not been updated for years but it has all the elements that an employer wants from a fresher. Here students get a good experience of this college vibes. Students will have the chance to interact with foreign students and students from other states also.
Other: This course is very demanding and I opted for this course because one of my family members are also in this field and I have a great interest in cooking. The course has all the key elements but they must bring out some improvements like making it shot and simple. Many cultural and sports events are held in this college, and people from different nationalities study here. The campus is very green and clean, several state governments scholarships are there to take part.

Good faculty members with average placements.
Placements: Only 20% students got placed last year through campus selections. The highest package offered was 5 Lacs per annum last year, and the lowest was 3 Lacs per annum though some students got a package of around 6 lacs per annum through off-campus placement. Top recruiters are Nestle, Amul, Haldiram, Tetrapak, Parle Agro, Mondlez International, Akshaypatra, ITC and JW Marriot Group of Hotels. 30% of students got internships by themselves in Nestle, Mother Dairy, Amul, etc. Roles offered are quality food technologist, process technologist, food safety technologist, food scientist, food microbiologist, etc.
Infrastructure: All types of modern facilities are available like labs, digital classrooms, research field, central library, food tech departmental library, Wi-Fi, etc. Hostel is not so good regarding cleanliness, but it is very old, so in summers it saves you from scorching heat. Food offered is of good quality, but sometimes you have to manage with moderate quality food. Several sports competitions are held in the college by central and state governments and also by the college authorities.
Faculty: You get good qualified teachers from universities like BHU, HBTU, and some of them even studied at ICAR. If you are a sincere student, they will share extreme knowledge with you. The course is industry ready while the exams are on the hard part. The exam paper is a bit tough for those who study at last because the course is a heap of books. If you break your routine from the start, you cannot get back into the game.
Other: I chose this course because it is demanding, the need of packed food is growing day by day. So a food technologist is always demanded. They should bring some more processing machines to the lab to improve the course. Several events are heald in the college like southindian cultural fest and other events like sports tournaments, etc. The campus is really very crowded in the day time, but after 6 pm, the girls hostel closes so crowd decreases. There are scholarship programs offered by UP government and other state governments like Bihar credit card etc. Needy students also get a fees concession.

This university environment is good, and everything is good except the outside environment.
Placements: Around 30% of students are placed, and not many placements are there. But will get much time to prepare for the government or every exam students want. The average salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA - 3 LPA. ITC, Nestle, and many more companies visit to hire students, but they do not select many students. Pepsico is also recruiting companies, and QC is in charge and others are the roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, and students will love the environment. There are 5 canteens with tasty food and has a big playground. The environment is best. Students will find from Nepal, Afghanistan, South India also. This university has a high-speed internet connection and also has the best laboratory facility with greenery.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They will give students the best they can. In food tech all teachers are food. They are knowledgeable. Attendance matters in this college, just keep students' attendance percentage is good, and students will get good marks. The food tech is good in our college. Exams are hard enough to test students.
Other: I love this course, and events are not held much.
