SHIATS Counseling Process 2024 for Merit-I offline candidates started on July 22, 2024, for students who appeared for the SHUATS Online Entrance Test 2024 (SOET) on July 3, 2024. SHUATS Online Entrance Test Results were declared on July 8, 2024. Candidates who wish to take admission to the courses offered by the institute need to fill out the SHIATS 2024 counselling cum registration form.

Also, the entrance test for those students who failed to appear for SOET-2024 appeared for the SHUATS Offline Entrance Test on July 13, 2024, at 11:00 am. The SHUATS Offline Entrance Test Results 2024 was declared on July 17, 2024. The counselling press for the SHUATS Offline Entrance Test 2024 is scheduled for July 25, 2024. 

The SHIATS new session of 2024 will start on August 1, 2024. The online document verification process and verification of eligibility are scheduled for July 29, 2024.

Q:   When will be SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 notification releasing?

Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, And Sciences,  will release the SHIATS 2024 entrance exam notification in the month of April, 2024 for the academic session 2024-2025.

Q:   How are seats divided in SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 Admission based on the candidate's origin?

A:

Category of candidates and their allocation of seats in SHIATS 2024 etntrance exam is based on the following norms:

  1. Regular Students:  Candidates selected for admission into various academic programmes offered by the university are considered as fulltime regular students. These students will be entitled to avail of all the facilities of the various academic departments and other fields in the university.
  2.  Christian and General Candidates:  University reserves 50% seats for candidates of the Christian community and the remaining 50% seats shall be allotted to general candidates. Thus,  the total number of seats of the university have been categorized equally for Christian and general candidates. The total number of seats for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are given.
  3.  Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Candidates: For the academic programmes in agriculture, agricultural engineering and allied sciences, fifteen percent (15%) seats in undergraduate programmes and twenty-five percent (25%) seats in postgraduate programmes will be filled through all India entrance test conducted by ICAR, New Delhi.
    However, eighty-five percent (85%) seats in undergraduate and seventyfive percent (75%) in postgraduate shall be filled by SHUATS.
    The ICAR category seats are inclusive of Christian and general candidates and the number filled in either category shall be adjusted against total seats in each category.
  4. Foreign Candidates: Foreign candidates are not required to appear in SOET / merit based offline counselling / open online counselling. Admission to foreign candidates will be given on the recommendation of the Directorate of International Education and Training. The foreign candidates shall pay fees in U.S. dollars as mentioned in Table No. 9 of Prospectus 2023, which does not include the boarding and lodging (food expenses etc.) charges.
  5. Non-resident Indian (NRI) Candidates:  i. Admission for NRI wards/NRI-sponsored candidates is available in all undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programmes.
     ii. NRI wards/NRI sponsored candidates are exempted from the merit based online counselling / open online counselling.
     iii. These admissions shall be against fifteen percent (15%) over and above seats available for various academic programmes.
     iv. Fees for NRI Wards/NRI sponsored candidates shall be the same as for foreign candidates as mentioned in Table No. 9 of Prospectus 2023.
  6. Kashmiri Migrant Candidates: The Kashmiri Migrants will be considered for admission under special package during the session 2023–2024. They will be required to produce the supportive documents.
 

Q:   On what parameters a candidate's admission to SHIATS courses will be refused?

A:

Candidates who are interested in taking the admissions to one of the courses offered at SHIATS, will be refused on the following parameters:

  1. If any candidate is found misleading the University with false marks, mark sheet,  information and been admitted in the
    University, the University reserves the right to reject the admission and further debar the candidate from seekingadmission in  the University in future.
  2. It is the responsibility of the candidate to furnish complete and correct information in the application form. Any admission
    made on the basis of wrong or concealed information provided by the candidate or due to any oversight or error of the online counselling and admission division which is subsequently detected after the admission or joining of the candidate, will be cancelled at any time at the cost and the risk of the candidate.
  3. Candidates against whom disciplinary action has been taken and who have been involved in any sort of established criminal offence in the past, will not be considered for admission.
  4. If admission of a candidate is not in the interest of the university, the ViceChancellor reserves the right to cancel the admission of such a student, irrespective of the fact that he / she fulfils all the academic requirement of the programme. The decision of Vice- Chancellor shall be final and legally binding on the candidate.

Aspirants need to meet SHIATS entrance exam 2024 eligibility criteria in order to appear for the admission test.

SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria for UG Programmes

Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for SHIATS admissions if their have cleared their 10+2 with at least 45% marks (for general candidates) and 40% marks (for SC/ST/ differently abled candidates) as per their qualifying examination.

Apart from this, candidates who are appearing in their Class 10+2 examination in 2024 meet the eligibility criteria for SHIATS admission and can apply for provisional admission and thus can appear in the entrance test, but they will have to submit documentary proof of successfully completing the qualifying examination at the time of counselling.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in SHIATS Entrance Exam?

The official website of SHUATS informs that: "Every effort will be made to assign the candidate the center of his/ her first choice. However, the University reserves the right to change the centre and assign the candidate to any one of the above centres. The centres once assigned shall not be changed. Any of the above center(s) can be cancelled at the discretion of the University".

SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 Result

SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 is expected to declared in the first week of July, 2024. The merit list/ result carried the roll numbers and/or names of candidates qualifying for the exam. Candidates has to download their scorecards by entering their login credentials. The scorecard carries the information on sectional and overall scores, percentile and All India Rank (AIR). The scorecards should also be preserved till the 2024 session admission process is not over.

 

SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 Counselling

Candidates who will qualify for the exam are considered eligible to participate in the SHIATS Entrance Exam 2024 counselling process. The counselling process for 2024 is expected to be conducted in the month of July, 2024. Qualifying candidates have to upload documents that are verified by the officials and seats will be allotted to them. They have to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and pay the requisite fee to complete the admission process. At the end of the counselling process, the examination conducting body will release a separate merit list for each course.
