The admission process for SHUATS is primarily based on the SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET) and merit-based online/offline counseling. For various diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs, the admission is granted through Open Online Counseling.

Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences provides the flagship Bachelor of Science (BSc) program, which provides a solid Scientific foundation to students. The course is available in various specializations, and is geared towards the Agricultural fields. The SHUATS BSc programme is available in various relevant specializations like Nursing, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Community Science, among others.

SHUATS (Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences) does not participate in JEE Main Counselling 2023 conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Therefore, there is no JEE 2023 Counselling schedule at SHUATS. However, SHUATS conducts its own counseling process for admission to its engineering courses. Yes, SHUATS does extend financial support to Christian students. Students belonging to the aforementioned category can avail Yeshu Darbar Scholarship. These scholarships are available only to poor and needy Christian students. They must submit the following documents while applying:

• Letter of recommendation from the Pastor of the Church duly authenticated by the Senior Pastor or Bishop
• Baptism Certificate/Confirmation Certificate
• Parent's Income Certificate
