It has good placements and strict rules.
Placements: Around 80-90 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered is 70 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 5-8 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Infosys. Roles offered are software developer, system engineer, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: The CSE (AI) department at UEM (Kolkata) has good infrastructure with a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, modern computer labs, and a well-stocked library. Hostel facilities are decent with basic amenities and security. The mess and canteen food quality is good.
Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful and qualified, though quality varies. The course curriculum is industry-relevant with coding and projects. Semester exams are moderately difficult and manageable with study. The pass percentage is 85-90 percent. Many students clear exams easily.
Other: I am from the B.Tech at UEM (Kolkata) course. I chose this course for coding and placements. The best parts are projects and skill development. The campus has good events and connectivity. Improvement is needed in practical exposure and less strict rules.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2027

Average UEM student college experience. Everything is of poor quality except the placements.
Placements: In MCA in 2025, almost 58% of students were placed from UEM. Top recruiting companies: TCS, Capgemini, LTI, Mindtree, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, PWC, and Genpact. The course offers roles in the AI/ML fields mostly for B.Tech students. MCA/BCA students get decent software development roles (other roles include cloud computing, data science, DevOps, and even web development). The highest package is 27 LPA, the average is 6-7 LPA, and the lowest is 3-4 LPA. 25% of students got internships, primarily in TCS, Wipro, and Infosys.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is password-protected and is only usable by faculty members. Labs, classrooms, and libraries are not up to the mark. Most of the rooms don't even have ACs, not even the labs. The quality of faculty members, compared to other universities, is pretty decent. The quality of food in the mess/canteen is average; nothing special. Medical facilities are also not up to the mark. There is only a medical room where you can go to rest. There are almost no facilities for sports and games. The university doesn't even have a proper ground.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. All of them are M.Tech qualified, but their teaching style is sometimes very dull, and at times their behaviour can be quite rude. The course curriculum is relevant, and it will make you industry-ready, but self-grinding is much more necessary for this. Semester exams are very difficult. They are almost like IIT-level question papers.
Other: I chose this course to make myself job-ready in IT. MCA is one of the best courses after B.Tech to get placed in IT MNCs at a good package. MCA would have been better if it were 3 years instead of 2 years. Oftentimes, B.Tech students are considered above MCA students, so MCA must strictly acquire science students only. Teach events keep happening all the time. The campus life and crowd are almost NIL. There is almost no campus. There are 3 buildings on the campus, and they charge so much money each semester. There is an SVMCM scholarship to apply for. Extracurricular activities are not that great either.

If you want to pass the time and change professions in the future, join the college.
Placements: Placements are low here. Companies generally come here for mass recruitment. But if you work hard, you can get a good package. Internships depend on how much skills you have. College brings opportunities, but you must have enough skills to get a job. But for high package you must try off-campus.
Infrastructure: Labs are not so equipped, sometimes the tools and machines do not work. Wi-Fi facility is good. Library is not well designed, finding a particular book is like a search hunt, it looks like a staffroom. I do not stay in college hostel, so I cannot say anything about it.
Faculty: Semester exams are easy. Some professors are helpful but not everyone. I feel that the curriculum of the course is a bit outdated and exhaustive. Research papers, mini projects, assignments, and exams will be your college life and time will pass like a bullet train in this college.

There are very good faculty members and teachers who give their 100 percent for your study.
Placements: 94 percent student are placed by this course. They also do there extra curriculum activity to increase their study level better and they also provide a huge number of internships and jobs for every student.
Infrastructure: The hostel quality is too good and there is a facility of Wi-Fi and food, which is of better quality. They provide a good quality bed and also the room is very clean for our students as they lead a healthy life. The hostel is near the college .
Faculty: The fee structure is also good, they at least tell one month before for the payment and they provide a extra guard in the exam. Provide two exams before the college semester and also provide how to learn and get better marks in college. I always recommend this college.

The college offers good education with placements.
Placements: UEM Kolkata B.Tech placements are strong. About 85–95% students placed. The highest package reaches around 72 LPA, the average is about 8.4 LPA, and the median is near 5.1 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and others. Many students secure internships and roles like software developer and analyst.
Infrastructure: Campus has Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, a good library, and decent classrooms. Sports facilities and a cafeteria are available. Hostels are secure with Wi-Fi and basic amenities. Rooms are shared, and food quality is generally average. Medical help is available on campus, and rules are quite strict.
Faculty: Teachers at UEM Kolkata are mostly helpful and well-qualified, with good teaching quality. The B.Tech curriculum is updated and relevant, helping students become industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately challenging. The pass percentage is generally high, around 80–90%.
Other: I chose B. Tech because I am interested in technology and want strong career opportunities. The best parts of the course are the helpful faculty, good placement support, and solid technical foundation. I wish there were even more focus on hands-on projects and internships. The campus has regular events and fests. The crowd is friendly and supportive. There are scholarships for eligible students. Connectivity to the city is decent, and there are good opportunities for extracurricular activities.

I am unhappy with the faculty and the bad infrastructure. It has good placements and facilities.
Placements: From last year's batch, about 60% of students got placements. The highest package is not offered in my course, but the minimum package is 5 LPA. About 30% of students got internships. Top roles offered are software engineer, data analyst, web developer, and cybersecurity expert.
Infrastructure: There is good Wi-Fi and a library. Since it is too hot in Kolkata to survive without AC, there is no AC in classrooms. AC is only available in labs. Food quality and the canteen are good. There is no sports area. It only conducts sports in the basement of the college, as the college's grounds are small.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in startups, internships, and other new ideas for students. The course taught by teachers is very bad and hard to understand. The course curriculum is good and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are hard, but the pass percentage is about 87%.
Other: I chose this college because it is comparatively better than other nearby colleges. It also has better placements. It definitely needs improvement in teaching and classroom infrastructure. Fests should be done more and better.
