Experience of my college life. The worst college in Kolkata.
Placements: There were only like 7 companies, and most of the roles are like customer service, customer associate, like that, business development, sales-related. We were in a computer application, we knew the coding, a new tech, but still, there were only three companies with roles that came with tech roles like TCS, Wipro and Deloitte. And the company didn't hire many candidates, the strongest and the experienced were average.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good, but most of the labs and most of the high-tech things were not accessible to us, like the labs were shut down, and we couldn't go there unless we had a lab class. In the free class, we still can't do our stuff, like if we want to learn new things, we can't do that. If the faculty has even given us an assignment, we have done that, and the rest of the time, we have to just pass the time, we can't even use the computer.
Faculty: Exams are really bad, you can't really judge your marks, like if you have written and you are confident that you will score nine out of 10, you will 7 and if you confident that you will score 7 out of 10, shockingly you will get 10 out of 10 or somewhere and the faculty is really bad they don't know the basic DSA.
Other: Campus drive life is really bad, you can't really call that small cage a campus. You can't even get out of college if you have any emergencies.

About my college, it has good facilities.
Placements: In my college, almost 85% of students get placed. The highest package is 11.9 LPA and the lowest is 5.5 LPA. The average package offered in my course is 8 LPA. Wipro, TCS, and Infosys are the top companies recruiting for my course. Around 70% of students got internships from my course in Wipro, Infotech, etc. Roles such as Software Engineer, Software Developer, and Data Analyst are offered in my course.
Infrastructure: All labs are too good, and the Wi-Fi connection is almost 100 MBPS. Our hostel also has good food, clean washrooms, and AC rooms. The college also focuses on games.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful. Most of them hold Ph. D.s in their fields. They teach us the most accurate and are too knowledgeable. Our course curriculum is too much relevant and must for industry-ready. Our semester exams are very difficult, but the quality of study is so good which is why exams become easy for us. Our faculty members are precious gems to us. They help us to much.
Other: In the current situation, BCA is in very demand, and most top companies have released different hiring systems only for BCA and B.Sc. students. Our college is too strict with us, so I wish they would slightly decrease their strictness, as it would be better for us. Every year, technical fests, curriculum fests, gaming fests, etc organized.

Average college. Good placements but require personal preparation, college is useless.
Placements: Roughly 50% of my batch got placed. The highest offer for BCA graduates is 4 LPA, and the lowest offer is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies included SAP (only 1 student is placed), LTI Mindtree, Deloitte, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, and Wipro (students who secured placements at SAP and LTI Mindtree are not allowed to sit for other on-campus interviews). College does not provide any internships. Only a SAP internship is provided which is very selective with 4 interview grounds. (Ultimately no student from UEM is selected for the interview. Some around 4 IEM students are selected). Most common roles offered are associate trainee and apprentice.
Infrastructure: Consistent Wi-Fi is only available in the library. Labs contained enough devices, but hardware is outdated and many devices are faulty and not functional (especially the digital electronics equipment). Classrooms are almost never cleaned. (With the exception of some that are used to seat recruiters or students of other colleges during national exams). A layer of dust is always present on the benches. Food stains on tables, etc., are quite obviously not cleaned, as we come back to them every day. Library has books decently stocked, but outdated computers. Food is okay but not free. Sports events are encouraged.
Faculty: Teachers are consistent. Some teachers are good at explaining concepts but many others only read information from presentations and books without explanation. Curriculum is outdated, and not industry-specific. Teachers mostly do not understand what knowledge is required to crack interviews. Important industry skills are not taught or touched upon. Semester exams are okay, studying relevant concepts ensures that you pass.
Other: The college organized many events all year round like tech fest, clubs, seminars, and events like teachers, etc. Scholarships are provided every year in which students can avail 1 semester fee or half semester fee depending on their application. Students need to pass a screening process for their application approval. During the last semester of my course, we are instructed to publish a conference paper as part of our dissertation/major project. We are told that it provided 50% of our GPA for the semester and any team unable to publish it would get significantly lower GPA.

Review of UEM Kolkata - University of Engineering and Management.
Placements: Above 80% of students secured placements, with the highest package being 12 LPA and the lowest at 2.5 LPA. Top companies that hired graduates included Accenture, TCS, and Wipro. A few students, including myself, completed internships. The main roles offered by companies were Associate and Programmer Analyst positions.
Infrastructure: All the labs and classrooms were equipped with Wi-Fi, and each classroom also had smart boards and projectors. The food quality was average, while the medical facilities were quite good compared to other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and always available when needed. They supported us throughout the course, which was highly relevant to today’s job market, making candidates industry-ready. The exams were not too difficult; if you studied well, you could pass, with a passing percentage set at 40%.

Satisfied with the teachers and good placements in 2023.
Placements: When I went there for college, almost all the students who applied for the placements got placed, like 90%. The highest offered package was 3.81 lacs per annum and the lowest was 1.3 LPA. The top recruiters are Deloitte, SAP Labs, and LTI Mindtree. The top roles were associate analysts.
Infrastructure: There are good computer labs and libraries, and the classrooms are equipped with projectors. The food in the canteens is all good, within a variety of foods. The sports are a bit lacking, but still, we do go to some competitions. The Wi-Fi was equipped on all the floors for work and study.
Faculty: All the teachers were very helpful and focused on individual growth. They were quite knowledgeable in there subjects. The curriculum was helpful and to the point. You will know the basics of the industry if you follow the teaching well. The exams were quite easy if you followed what was being taught by the teachers in the class.

In each of these four months, the MAT is conducted in CBT, PBT, and IBT modes. Candidates can choose a date and a mode of exam based on their preparation and convenience. Registrations for each MAT exam phase start a month earlier. Candidates can also take re-tests in the same academic session if they are not happy with their scores.
